On my 70 warden, we occasionally group with a guild dirge in the EoF instances and we noticed something on the parses.  Melee classes were parsing an extra 200ish dps on average when a dirge was added.  Magic casters were parsing more dps than normal as well (not sure if dirges have buffs that help casters along, or casters were able to go that extra mile due to more melee damage output).  An example is the berserker usually parses about 550ish dps a fight, add the dirge in and he's getting 730ish dps a fight.   I knew dirge buffs were good, but didn't realize just how good they were. Since I kinda view Troubador's as the caster's bard, do they bring the same type of parsing to the table as a dirge - but for casters?

dirges are heavily melee focused:
- dps (melee)
- +slash/crush/pierce
- str/agi
- parry
- melee proc (this one is rarelly used)
- melee ward
- CoB (this one is 15s mad group haste with proc)

troubadours are more like half-half
- haste (melee)
- spell proc
- +subj/disrupt/etc
- str/sta
- defense

plus they share:
- power buff
- resist buff (different type)
- hate (again different type but it's hate in the end)

everything concentration based (except CoB) so don't expect all the goodies to be up unless you have more than 1 bard in group,
and yes bards make a hell of a difference in a full group

The fury I regularly am group with while raiding said that I equate to 200-300dps for him even when he has to spot heal. I've never really parsed the difference in a controlled setting (same mobs, same con, without other buffs added in, etc), but I will say that the unlucky caster outside my group rarely gets too close to its counterpart that I'm grouped with.

We recently parsed the damage from Aria with 45% proc chance in a raid group. It amounted up to 10% of mage's overall damage, much less for scouts. This is only one proc a troubadour adds to a group. Precision of the Maestro adds around 500 damage to every spell cast on an enemy, including debuffs.

While a troubadour adds less personal dps to a group compared to pure dps classes, he makes the others classes stronger. When looking to fill a dps spot in a group, you have to take into consideration, that a pure dps class has to do more dps than the troubadour, as well as the combined dps the troubadour adds to other group members. That is not easy.

don't forget the deaggro song what basically allows groupmembers to do up to 40% more dps without getting aggro.
