Hows it work exactly? I know if I cast it on myself at adept 1, then check my PoM timer it's got about 20 seconds shaved off it, which makes it a 1min 10 recast. So, if I cast PoM, then cap on myself, the cap will be gone before PoM timer is back, does that mean it didn't do anything? And what about if you cast cap, and then PoM, will the recast be reduced and stay that way before cap runs out?

You cast the spell and then everything you use while the spell is up has its recast reduced.

I thought the patch notes read that this was in PvP only. Haven't checked in game, though.

eh? i just got up and this confused me greatly

Jesters is currently bugged with no word from the devs atm it is only redcucing the recast time by about 26%(adept III) and 28%(master I)   so yeah you shoudl see potm go down to about 56 seconds i believe instead of 1min 10 seconds.   The best example and easies to see is escape 15 min recast time shoudl get redcued to 9min 45 seconds instead its being reduced to 11 min.  You can see they error quite easly if you just cast jesters on your self then just exame your spells you'll see what the recast time would be if you were to cast the spell with jesters on.Basicly the way it is working, for some reason the devs coded the formula to be "No using Jesters Cap will increase your recast times by %reduction", where %reduction is what ever your reduction is at the quality level of spell.   Instead it SHOULD be "reduces the recast timers of abilits"   The logic is completely backwards with the way it currently is.  (Tmod + Tmod * %reduction = T) instead of ( T - T * %reduction = Tmod )I really hope the devs fix this, so far they seem to just of ignoring the issue.

hmmm this is actually news to me, just got the spell the other night and had been just casting it on others rather than really testing it out, I thought it lowerd all recast timers for the duration of the spell, then once it was over they reset, and thus was only good for spells that had recast timers of about 30s or less, but if it lowers the recast for spells cast during that time and doesn't reset after it ends that's much better than i thought it was.  I'll have to test it out. Correct the workings of Jester's Cap reduce the "Recast" timers of all Ability or Item with in the 30 second duration of the player Jester's Cap is on.With this said, the Item must finish its "Cast" timer before Jester's Cap's duration expires.  For example the ability "Call of Ro" has a 30 second cast timer. If you were to have jester's Cap on your self, then cast Call of Ro, jester's would expire before Call of Ro would finish its cast timer; therfore the recast timer on Call of Ro would not be reduced.   Now on the other hand if you were to cast Jesters on a person that is currently casting Call of X, and the call finishes its cast timer before jester's expire, say you cansted it in the last 10 seconds on the Call timer, it would reduce the recast of the player's call that jester's was on.Now it is possible if your quick and in an area with out too much lag and have the AP, Allegro's at at least 4 points or higher, to cast Jester's on your self and queue up Call of x.   With allegro reducing the cast timer of Call of X (29.2seconds @4points)  it is possible for the cast timer of Call to finish before the 30 second duration of Call has expired.This example just using Call  because its an easy spell to use and everyone has it, but the simple rulles of Jester's Cap is is reduces the recast timers on all abilites/items that FINISHED casting before Jester's Cap's 30 sec duration expired.

Bah, I missed the "pvp" part for CoQ and CoO when perusing the update notes.  My bad for the erroneous info (although I wish they reduced it on live too...).

Jesters cap has a duration of 90 seconds not 30.

Best macro ever:

/target Brigand
/usea Jester's Cap
/assist Tank

Substitute in names and it works great.  I have four of these on my hotbar so I can alternate through group members and save a lot of clicking.

I have Jesters Cap Master 1...40% reduction in recast timer.  I have my Allegro at Rank 3, which is a 2.5% casting time reduction.  So  did the following to see if one of you math wizz's could figure out if this is indeed working as intended.  I cast jesters followed immediatly by CoR.  When i zoned to Ro my recast timer on CoR was 42minutes rather than 60, a good reduction, but is it 40%?  I also did this with evac which went from 15min normal to 11minutes.  the last test was on PoM with a normal recast of 1min30sec which went to 1min 3 sec.  Note that the recast on PoM starts after the spell is completed.  So given these 3 songs and thier recast who can figure out if it is working properly?

None of them are working correctly (CoR, Evac, PoM)This is what the times should be at "Reduces ability recast time by 40%"CoR = 60min base -> 3600sec - (3600sec * 0.40)  = 36 minEvac =  15min base -> 900sec - (900sec * 0.40) = 9 minPoM = 1min 30sec base ->90sec - (90sec * 0.40) = 54secIn its current state the spell discriptoin should read "If not using Jester's Cap all recast timers are increased by 40%"

I have Jester's Cap at Adept I. It says 30%, but when in use, spell timers are reduced 23%. A 10 second recast reads as 7.7 second recast and so on.
