Agility and Intelligence are the two most important stats. Agility adds the most to power pool, and Intelligence ups the damage your spells are doing. Late game, Intelligence is considered much more important than Agility. Overall the races don't matter, 98% of your stats are going to come from your gear, not your racial traits. In terms of best Agility + Intelligence, Ratonga is the way to go, but again you could build an Ogre Troubador that's just as effective (altho far more scary). I'd figure out which race you'd prefer to play, over which race is "best" for which class.

AFAIK yes, str makes you hit harder, but not affects your power pool.  STR determines the power pool of pure melee classes if im not wrong.

The main stat regarding power pool for a troub is agility and intelligence is the secondary atribute.  With the LU19 the increase in power from secondary atributes has been changed and raised, so i think is a nice approach to focus in intelligence, since most of our dmg come from others and CAs, wich are mainly focused in intelligence.  Im not saying to forget about str, but trying to keep leveled agi, int and str.

it depends on what I go after.

for soloing,

If i am mowing down arrow stuff, i go with an even mix of agility and str.
if I am going after ^^^ stuff, i go max intellegence and then agi as I burn em down with spells.

for groups, i go str int

Our power pool is determined by our AGL and INT, AGL more so, so we need to keep this stats reasonably high.

Our DPS is determined by both STR and INT. Our spells (songs) use INT and our combat abilities use STR when determining damage. Our spells are the big damage dealers so perhaps INT is more important than STR, but when soloing I tend to spam the combat abilities a little more than the spells because they are quicker to cast and therefore get less interupts. Also, when we are attacking without any combat abilities or songs I think STR determines this damage as well.

AGL also increases our avoidance with is important when soloing since we take longer than other scouts to bring mobs down and so need to be able to last longer in a battle.

As you can see I can't make my mind up which is why I seem to concentrate on these 3 attributes and keep them around the same level after buffs.

I actually have AGL as the lowest of the three (most people have this the highest for scouts) because when in groups I am not getting hit and therefore don't need avoidance, and I never seem to get anywhere near running out of power.

As for which race to choose, it doesn't matter. Pick the one you like the look of best  :smileyhappy:

Order of stats priorities for me: Int > Agi > Str > Sta > Wis

I am always on the lookout for items that gives both +Int and +Agi on the broker. For slots that doesnt seem to have anything with decent +Int, I will then look for +Agi. I would even consider wearing leather or cloth armour if it has both +Int and +Agi on it *pines for Robe of the Invoker*. Mitigation is not important for a group-friendly Trouby SMILEY but keep decent back-up chain armor for soloing purposes.

Best race: tier'dal.  Same as for every class.  We're just flat out the best race in the game.  Sorry to all you losers who didn't pick a dark elf.  SMILEY

Best stats: depends on how you see yourself playing the character.
INT - best stat for magic damage, which is ultimately our best damage source.
STR - best stat for melee damage, a small component of our overall DPS but one which can be used more universally than mental damage (the ONLY non-physical damage type we deal) thanks to auto-attack.
AGI - best stat for power (Int is roughly 1/3 as good for power, will soon, apparently, be about 1/2 as good) and defense (avoidance, really) - critical at lower levels, less so in raids, and good for solo/group at any level.
WIS - good for resists and that's about it.  Nice to have against caster mobs, especially debuffers and mez/stunners, can be critical in some raids.
STA - mediocre stat generally - an extra 60 stamina at level 60 yields a few hundred HP, which in most cases amounts to less than 10%.  Our regen typically is the solution to any damage that doesn't one-hit us, so stamina is far less worthwhile than to most classes.

Starting stats don't matter much.

If you want to min / max, pick your race based on the tradeskill bonus (ie: Make a barbarian troubadour if you want to take up alchemy for your tradeskill class, etc).

If you're starting fresh (no alts), races with high str are good because you can carry a bank box around right off the bat (100 pound boxes with lots of inventory space)
