Ok, so being new to playing a troubador,  I might be out of my mind or doing something completely wrong, but why is it that my charm doesn't work on heroics?  It says it doesn't work on epics, but every time I have tried to use charm on a heroic mob, even ones under me (blue or green), it tells me ~target too powerful~.

Reading through the forums other people have said thier charm works,  is it just Bria's Enchanting  that doesn't or am I doing something completely wrong.  I have even tried using both of my snare (one reduces magic the other divine) and it still says it.

Thanks.

Charm DO work on heroics (^ ^^ and ^^^)

It doesn't work on named mob.

I was fighting with a shaman yesterday in Gobblerocks hideout (you only find heroics down there) and I used my charmed maybe 30 times there without any problem.

PS : i'm lvl 36 and use Adept 1 version of the song.

Charm works on everything except Epics.

The problem some of you are seeing are "flagged" mobs.   99% of named mobs are flagged, very few aren't.  Heritage and rare quest mobs typically are, and even some regular spawns are flagged against charm/mez.

I have been able to mez anything other than the above normal epic mobs but charm seems to only be able to work on about 90% of the mobs

The sub 48 charm doesnt work on ^^^, but the 48 charm does. Lullaby works on about everything except epics.

Ok, so after leveling up and getting a new version of the cham,  it appears that it is only Bria's Enchanting that does not work on ANY heroics.  At 35 I ran around trying it on heroics and it says too powerful every time, even with no ^.    However the new version (Bria's Charming) does work on heroics and saved our hides several times last night in RE.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

Actually the message I get is like "Won't work on target", or something similar.  I have not figured out any rhyme or reason to what monsters can, and what monsters can't be charmed.  I don't think it has anything to do with the strength of the mob, but rather, what the mob is.  For instance, doing guild writs in Everfrost, I'll take out heroic groups of bitterwinds.  I CAN charm the bitterwind pioneers, no matter their strength, I CANNOT charm the bitterwind explorers, no matter their strength.  I tested this out on solo, grouped heroics, and ^^^ heroics.  Always the same, can charm pioneers, cannot charm explorers.  It's either bugged, or there is something they aren't telling us about the song.

I have seen the same behavior with the 48lvl,

It appears that certain things are immune to charm (some names some other non names) and the way you can find out is by seeing those anoying messages,

And yea if they want it to work like they they should have mentioned it in the spell!!

Otherwise I try to bug it every time i get it because some of the things it did not work on i can see no reason and for whatever reason if they want it to work like this then the spell should cast but you get an immune like if you try to hit with a weapon that the creature is immune too

SOE strikes again

Another notch marked in the soe bugs/anoyance pole, dang i am running out of space
