How does the Mala's damage avoidence work?

From the description of Mala's it is basically a Walk Lightly replacement, but also "briefly stops enemy attacks if the troubadour is hit".How does that last bit work? Does it briefly stop them after casting? What is the point of this? To allow you to slip into stealth while under attack?

no what it means ive found and tested is that while ur sneaking about if a mob sees you and attacks the 1st hit it lands thats breaks the stealth briefly stuns the mobs, giving u a moment to start legging it and hit evac if needed.
