Looking to hear some wise words from STR/STA line Swashtanks, suggestions on ideal gear etc.

I'm from a raiding guild on a (very quiet) PvP server, and what with server movelogs and mergers being suggested I have been toying with the idea of speccing for solo/small group PvP as a tank. I would like to see what you guys pick for gear, weapons and shields, maybe see a few parses for the kind of damage that gets done... minus double attack WIS line or Pirate Stabs, but plus DPS from STA line.

I'm also interested in hearing how, from a raiding point of view, the swash tank spec negatively (or otherwise) affects parses. I can parse pretty high at the moment (STR/AGI line, DW Vyemms Fang and a legendary axe off a Monolith- swapped after I saw the kind of crits Pirate Stab gets and for the so-far lack of swash friendly 1h drops)

I would love some more information as well.  I recently respeced my 44swash from agi/wis to agi/sta.  It helps me solo group encounters and I love being able to tank instead of relying on n00b tanks at my level.  I'm not sure if i'll have to respec at higher level to keep pace with other dps'ers out there.  right now it is no problem b/c im rather twinked out with a fabled 1h rapier.  I'm setup with sta 4 4 4 8 1(SMILEY & agi 4 4

My SwashTank setup was: Strength: 4 4 8 Stamina:  4 8 5 8 8 The plus defense from the strength line helps a good bit. And the eight points into the Encounter taunt, plus our already good AoE damage can keep encounter aggro very well. Just need to learn when to pop off the combat arts and in which order for what types of encounters and there isn't a heroic you can't tank.

Currently my aa set up is:           Str: 4-4-7-6         Sta: 4-4-4-8-1          With this set up i'm tough as nails and can still out dps other swash's in raids. I maxed out dps and put 6 points into Crits. Maxing out the taunt is pretty useless considering you gain plenty of hate with your dps, so don't waste your points there. Heroic encounters are a cakewalk and I have even succesfully raid tanked Tacticions Armor which is a 74 or 75x4 epic.           I wanted to still be great in pvp so I have the Heal when parry wrist adorn, Block% wrist, and barbed spikes on the shield. Just stick on some dps adornments and crit items and your a force to be reckoned with. My mitigation is 53%ish and avoidence is at 60%. My health is currently at 8373 without potions. I have the +100 adorn on the shoulders and 2 +70 health on the rings.  You'll love being able to tank and also being able to stay on top of the parse. Hope this helped you any.

^^^ it does look like the Strength line is the best line to comibine with Stamina, for the 2 casting/reuse time cut downs and the defense, not to mention the +Crit%.  I just re-aligned to go Str/Sta even though im still using a rapier.  I'll have to look around for a serious 1HS I can use at 52.
