I really want the Feign Death skill as i play a lot of solo, and it would be cool when i'm almost about to die to just use this skill and then maybe run of after.Does it work like that?I really don't like putting all my APs in Intelligence as that is not a common rogue skill. Is it worth it?I think I also heard that with Tinkering you can make something like Feign Death. Is that a one time use thingy and is it expensive?Thx

![]() No.
It wastes a total of 24 AAs or something like that. Really not worth it. |

![]() If you wanna have FD, be a tinkerer. Our AA's are better spent elsewhere.

I enjoyed it when I had it.... but I respec'd to str/sta and I'm much happier. The best use for it was when I forgot to turn off hurricane and attracted a bunch of normally non-aggro mobs. I'd finish killing the one I was after and then hit FD

Unless it has changed recently, the reuse timer on our aa FD is 3 minutes. It also makes you immune to all AoE effects unless you are specifically targeted by the mob casting it. If it weren't for str being a must have for us, and either agi / wis for the dw or 1handed wielding swashy being a dps must, or sta for the tanking abilities, int would be a nice fit. I went this way when I was first leveling up my swash, and I rarely if ever died with it. 2 of the abilities in the int line are aggro reducers, so already you are barely accumulating hate. If you are ok doing so so dmg and want to save costs on your repair bills, or just generally like to run around a lot and ditch aggro asap, then I would get FD if I were you.

![]() I'm probably the lone voice in the woods here, but I LOVE having feign death. Besides keeping me alive in dicey situations, it has solo and group tactical uses. I've lost count of the times I've been with a group deep in a dungeon (the bottom of SoS for example) when the grouped wiped, but because I was able to FD we didn't have to revive and start at the very beginning. Same for raids - very nice when you're able to FD and then rez a healer so you don't have to make that long trek back. I find that I can take on difficult multi-mobs that I wasn't able to pre-FD by rushing in, kill one or two then run off, FD, heal up, come back and kill the rest. When exploring a zone or trying to get past tough mobs that see invis, I just run past the mobs, trail them for a bit, then FD. The mobs go back to wherever they were, and I go on my way. I 've used the same above tactic in small groups when we needed to get from point A to B but the mobs in between were too tough to fight. I trail the mobs off and FD while the others run by to a safe spot. Feign Death is not as crappy or useless as it's made out to be. It can be a very potent tool when used properly. ![]() It's not useless at all. Of course it is very useful and has its purposes...
It's just, when sitting next to the other AAs...it's too costly. Everything in the intelligence line is useless but FD itself. It just costs too much to get. |

![]() This game is about having fun, right? I have fun being a swashie with FD. I do enough DPS to keep me and my groups and my raids happy. Its a very useful and tactical ability. And its just so much fun! If I wanted to play a brawler, I'd play a brawler .... regardless of whether they had FD or not. Take whatever AA lines you think you'll have the most fun with. And if you don't like it then respec. Nialla~

![]() I have it and love it, because it fits my playstyle. Like Elessara said, do what you think sounds the most fun.

I have the tinkerer FD. It's a 99% success on a 30 min timer for 3 mins duration. It's useful to save the odd group/raid wipe, but not for training in zones. You need to be a high level tinkerer to make, it has 5 charges, and costs maybe 5gp a pop to make. There's also a 75% FD tinkerer item for lower skill tinkerers (Heart Stopper) and it's on a different timer, so you can use one of each per 30 mins.

![]() Considering the rest of the tree isn't quite as nice, and limits you to a dagger.... is FD worth it? Especially considering you could up your Tinkering and make yourself an FD item... and an autorez item... and a... well... other...um....stuff... And that leaves you free to use your AAs in other branches.

![]() My Two Cents on the Subject. ------------------------------------ Yes I think it is worth it and my reasons are : 1) Dont you just hate it when the tank doesnt do his job and even if you put your deaggro skill on the tank you are still doing more dps and he cant get aggro back? Thats why i think FD is a good thing, once you have trouble with the Tank you can just FD to send it back to tank, yes it is costing a few AA skils but you have it up every 3 minutes despite the Tinkerer version... 2) You never know if your swashy is going to acc. aggro the mobs before tank is, and if the group wipes you have someone to rez the healer if the swashy has gotten a rez item. Yes given the fact Monk and Bruiser have them, they are not 100%, therefore it will NOT ALWAYS work. 3) My repair bills are much less than my non-FD toons, again yes its a waste in some of the peeps' opinion but saving my life for repair bills is so much ... especially when 10% costs ya 3gp .... 4) AGRO AGRO AGRO = DPS .. We are a DPS toon, we have many tanks online that dont know what to do.... Thats why i think this a good investment... FD = Save your life = Save money = more chances to kill more mobs imho every swashy should have this since we generate so much dps/hate in a group/raid... there is a reason why my guild wants me to play my swashy in raids... they love em because they output alot of dps... but when you output dps u can even steal aggro from the best tank as well.. FD instantly takes the aggro off ya |

![]() Since we have a free respec coming up with LU32, I decided to try fd out. See what it can do, test drive it, kick the tires, that sort of thing. Well! It works great, and it's so much fun! I might not be switching back to agi after this. I tried it first on Meathooks.....just ran into aggro range, pulled him back to a 'safe' area, and fd'd. Worked great! Broke aggro, Meathooks wandered back over to the corpse of that giant he's been gnawing on for about a year, and I died anyway. He has a nasty dot, that was hitting me for 1000 health per tick.....but fd worked! The only complaint I have with this skill, is the very short 30 second duration. I wish it were a few minutes, at least. Other than that....it's just great! For those thinking of trying it out, and have a free, or cheap respec available, I'd suggest giving it a try now, or in the near future, before LU32 comes out, and you get your points all reset anyway. |

Even with the new changes, no, it's still not going to be worth it.

And fd has saved my swashy butt a number of times already, where I would have died otherwise....regardless of my AA choices. The biggest issue I had was making up enough points after respecing to get Avast Ye back.....that skill is just amazingly useful. I still wish FD had a longer duration than 30 seconds though... |

I choose FD too and i'm very happy with it. The thing that is quite useful is when you raid in some annoying zone like deathtoll and you start to be quite deep in it, when there is a bad pull or the fight with a named didn't go well, hit FD and wait for the mobs to wipe the raid ( they usually do it in less than 30 sec

Swashie = style My style has always been DW daggers. The other line weapon requirements didn't really attract me at all. Plus I figured that the deaggros you get with Int line must be there for a reason. Also I had faith in poison triggers that come with Int line. And tbh the FD attracted me. So I went with it and I haven't regretted. My poisons trigger a lot, and my FD comes handy in raids since we have only one bruiser in our raid set-up and he can't always come in them. So swashie to the rescue. (I've also concentrated more points to int via racial choices and armor, since being grouped with zerker, my str is high anyway) The other line from rogue I chose was str. From swashie line I've taken debuffs and poison line. This supports my build-up. My aim is not to be the highest dps in raid but to my surprise I'm high up on parse right after wizzys and rangers, together with another swashie. I like that we have choices. I like being different. So please don't say it's not worth it. It depends what you aim for doesn't it? I got what I aimed for and I'm happy. Now whole raid makes more damage, not just me. And isn't that the purpose of this game, not to shine yourself but for the whole group to shine? Just my thoughts
