The tooltip says that Pickpocket allows you to steal things with a 100% chance of success, but I've failed many, many times, & on occasion, have even caused a mob to aggro on me. That doesn't sound like a 100% chance of success, to me.

Am I missing something, here?

Definitely isn't 100% in my experience. And I thought it used to say it [Removed for Content] them off if they caught you trying to pick their pocket (which makes sense). However I barely ever use it as I'd rather be hitting a CA SMILEYI'd gladly trade it for Sense Traps or something... you know something that could tell you when mobs were about to be triggered... I use mine all the time, assuming the mobs aren't dying fast. I trigger pick pocket when I'm temporarily out of CA's, at the end of my frist rotation.Generally, on a 3-4 hr night, at lvl 70, I make maybe 6-12gp extra thanks to pick pocket.

Definately not 100% but I am up around the 95% success rate.

I always use it when I solo..it is the first thing I do SMILEY

Grouping is anothe matter..dps first then if my CA's are down and I am in the right position to use it I do.

Only lvl 18 atm but this is a great  AA and I get around 20cp per pickpocket..it all adds up.

just macro it with plunder, it takes about a 1/4 of a second to cast & is un-noticable when used that way. plus u will be in position as well cause if plunder doesnt work either will pickpocket (depending on reuse timer)

either way u will get a emote if not in the right position

Macro has plunder and pick pocket and then you put plunder next to it.  It still takes up 2 buttons on your hotbar but only one click and you won't forget about it. SMILEY

Sounds like a good idea.

I assume plunder is a high lvl CA.  Will join it up with my sneak attack SMILEY

Plunder is the high level of our back attack + agi debuff.  It is a good one to have it macro'd with because it is the only attack we have that requires being behind the mob.  Sneak attack can be done from any position.

I might be wrong but I think you get an item if you are 100% succsesful.  It's not that it'll always be 100%.  I fail to steal coin somtimes...that's not 100% stealing.

Hmm, that's an interesting idea, I hadn't heard anything about stealing items. So far, AFAIK, all I've gotten is coin, & I thought that was all that could be stolen. I'll have to keep an eye out, now SMILEY

It is only coin. You have a chance to steal or fail, if you steal then RNG probably kicks in for coin amount.

I believe it is successful 100% of the time, but the mobs that are pick pocketable do not have coin on them 100% of the time. You can't steal money that isn't there, but if it is there you will have 100% chance of getting it.

I don't use this ability tho, it's a waste of hotbar space.

I've seen the message "your attempt to steal something was unsucessful" on a mob, waited until Pickpocket refreshed, & then tried again, successfully. I don't believe it had anything to do with the mob not having any stealable cash on it the first time.

Additionally, I've also seen a message to the effect of "your failed attempt at stealing has angered .....", or something like that, which clearly seems like a "failure" to me SMILEY

I use Pickpocket ALL the time, & have had my cash flow improved by it. Not gigantically, but IMHO it's not intended to make you rich SMILEY
