Does anyone know how to cancel the escape skill (evac).  Fortunately, it has only happened to me when I was soloing, but would hate to cast it at the end of a dungeon crawl, just before main mob.  Have tried crouching, escape, jumping, pressing hotkey again, clicking icon...and nothing.  Any ideas would be great.

hitting "x" also works, as this sits you down and cancels the casting.

Sit.

Personally I have it mapped to Ctrl-S, per EQ1, though X is the default. It'll become instinctive after a while. You'll be amazed at the speed of your own reflexes when you misclick that evac hotkey. SMILEY

There is also another keymapping for Cancel Cast in the Options window, which will interrupt any spell/CA cast. I'm afraid you'll have to hunt for it as I'm not in front of the game right now, but it's there. Sadly I think it's (stupidly) tied to one or two other functions, something like - Cancel Cast/Clear Target/Close Windows - so I rely on sitting instead.

Bear in mind, though, that sitting doesn't work when you're underwater (that's screwed me up so many times on my caster alts!) and, as you've seen, evac won't cancel when you move. So you'll either have to assign a key to Cancel Cast in Options, or just be very careful underwater!

Also, under Controls, Spell Keys, you can assign a key to insantly end a spell's casting. Very helpful for me.

Oh, that's hated.  I solved the problem of accidental evacs by putting my evac button on one of my alt hotbars.

I put my evac on bar 5 next to a bunch of my tradeskill keys.  Fortunately, when you are tradeskilling it won't take it SMILEY
