![]() I was wanting to play a rogue type and have been reading extensively on the swashy and brigand boards. The brig boards are quite close mouthed so I created one and got him close to 30 to check out the feel. I found they have great single target debuffs, good dps, a line of stuns and good agro management. With that being said, what is the swashy's shtick? I'm trying to save myself another grind to 30 just for the sakes of a comparison. Thanks in advance for your input!

So you're saying, other than flavor, there isn't much difference?

We are actually more AOE based, with 2 DD AOE and an AOE proc (hurricane). We also debuffs stats like int, agi etc and skills like pierce, desruption ettc...rather than resists like brigands do (we do have some). Both class' are fun, but personally if i had a choice, i would stay swashy 110%.

![]() And the hats, man, don't forget the hats. :smileyvery-happy: We will look like dandy rogues with our plumed hats...brigands will look like the Hamburgler.

Swashys', being more refined and better educated than Brigands, have learned how to use the forum search features.:smileyvery-happy:Brigands and Swashy's are very similar. Swashy's are marginally better at AoE's, but that "better" translates to two attacks, one with a slow timer, one with a fast. Plus we have a more effective stun/mez for crowd control (the Disarming Line). You'll find that brigands also tend to hit slightly harder but slightly slower than we do. Differences tend to come out in the wash. There are fewer Brigands in game, mostly because of the evil side theme. So that's a draw for them if you like to be rare.

the biggest selling point of a brig is AOE immunity (which most t6 raid mobs are, and most likely a large portion of t7), swashies get Hail of steel (similar to ranger stream of arrows) to balance this out, we also debuff diff stats than brigs, mostly mit, agi, def, stats. we do have a mez, some ppl use it others like myself dont (except in duels). there really arent many of either class in the game, but essentially if you want a rogue and have a brig thats already to lvl 30 i would say keep playing it, i havent played a brig but im going to guess they play pretty similar at the end, but i could be wrong
