Thanks to the article, new concept arts of the 8 gods in EQ2 are being revealed. I decided to go through and show the various variations of how the gods have been depicted throughout the games.

Many of you will be quite surprised with what various appearances Innoruuk has gone through....

Innoruuk, Prince of Hate. Creator of the Dark Elves and Luggalds of EQlive. Even though the lore's been debunked, the evidence carried itself well into EQlive to prove that the Trolls were created as a joint effort between Cazic Thule and Innoruuk, as Inny shaped them in his image.

EQlive concept:

In-Game:

Champions of Norrath:

(How awesome is that? totally bad-*** and voiced by recently deceased actor Tony Jay. We'll never forget his greatness.)

And now, Innoruuk in EQ2. Please take important notice that he is a Troll....

Rallos Zek, the God of War. Creator of the Ogres, Giants, Orcs, and Goblins. In my oppinion one of the coolest looking gods in the entire series. He wasn't much of a looker in the concept art, but he evolved bigtime.

EQlive Concept:

In game:

He's huge.

Champions of Norrath:

Spikey, and STILL HUGE!!!

And now, Everquest 2's Rallos Zek:

For some reason he reminds me of Megatron. :p Or maybe the Megadeus in Big-O.

Cazic Thule, Lord of Fear. Creator of the Iksar, Trolls, Shissar, and all other races Reptillian. The only god who's appearance has stayed pretty much the same throughout the series' history.

EQlive Concept:

In Game:

(Skeleton between his legs for size comparison)

Champions of Norrath:

(yeah, they're bad quality. Thats what you get from taking a picture directly at the TV. He's still huge btw.)

And Everquest 2:

He actually looks like he has a mouth in this picture. :/

Brell Serilis, God of the Underground, Smithing, and Beer. Brell is tied with Rallos Zek for the most amount of races they've created and put onto Norrath. He created the Dwarves, Gnomes, Ratonga, and Gnolls.

Concept:

Everquest 2:

He hasn't changed too much.

Brell Serilis isn't found in Eqlive, so these two pictures are all we have to go by. Kind of a shame too.

Quellious, God of Peace and Tranquility. Her personal philosophies seem to be that the greatest actions are achieved through inaction. She is not seen in EQlive because the Plane of Tranquility itself was the very physical envisioning of her mind. She chose to stay out of the affairs of the mortals with the planes, and it was her idea for the gods to silence themselves up from the mortals so they would have time to recover in EQ2.

Concept:

EverQuest 2:

Nice!

As a devout Human Monk ever since I first started playing Everquest, I have always been faithful to Quellious, and I always will.

Tunare, Queen of Nature. Creator of the Wood Elves, High Elves, the Fae, and various other creatures of nature.

Concept:

In Game:

A little basic with the model detail. Quite evident that she is a high elf, but the designers arn't to blame for the technical limitations.

Everquest Online Adventures:

Wow. Did they intentionally design her model to draw attention to her chest? Either way, she looks nice.

Everquest 2:

Pretty. At least it doesn't draw attention to her breasts like the EQOA version does.

Mithanial Marr, God of Valor, Honor, and That-Which-Is-Just-Morally-Right. Creator of the Barbarians, Humans, and NUMEROUS PALADINS worldwide.

Concept:

(I HAVE THE POWWWWEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR!)

In Game:

The picture speaks for itself, folks. The God of Valor is MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE! OH YEAAAAH!!!

Champions of Norrath:

He's normal human sized in this game, but his voice still speaks strong and noble.

Everquest 2 Mithanial Marr:

Could be Human, could be Barbarian... either way, that's actually pretty dang handsome, in my oppinion.

Solusek Ro, the Burning Prince. God of the Sun (Officially) and Ambition (Unofficially). Instead of contributing to Norrath by creating his own race, he decided to change the face of Antonica and ruin the lives of the elves instead.

Concept:

In Game before Planes of Power:

This may just be a puppet from the Plane of Mischief back during Velious, but I kid you not, I saw him for real during a GM Event, and yes, he did look that horrible. Truely, the laughing stock of the gods when it came to fashion sense.

Planes of Power:

Two-Tone. Awesome. Guess he's a Star Trek fan.

Everquest 2:

Ooooh. Still Two-Tone, but he's deffinitly improved his fashion sense.

I beleive Brell also created the Kobolds (although they now worship Rallos.)From the art we've seen so far, what strikes me as interesting is that the devs seem to be trying to make the gods look like their worshipers.Inny has always looked kinda like a troll, but it's even more apparent now.Brell looks just like a beardless dwarf now, where before he looked liked some sort of chubby imp or goblinRallos now has the phsyique of an ogre, instead of just being a generic humaniodCazic's the one that really surpised me.  In a strange way, he kinda reminds me of an Alliz Ew lizardman with the shape his head has now

Looking forward to see the next 4 gods and how they have changed, but I have to admit I'm bit puzzled about some of the changes. Such as the Innoruuk looking just like a troll, somehow the EQlive version looked more of a monster type creature (although there is definately some difference on the concept vs how it was ingame) and well the Champions version did look more like a humanoid shape (and much more evil, which is why i prefer that version i guess). SMILEY

Rallos hasn't really changed that much, although definately I think he looks more like a huge armored ogre or a giant now. Cazic seems to have changed to more of a lizardman/iksar type of creature although with no tail :smileytongue: . Even the lower arms look as if they have been cut-off or something. I think in Cazic's case the I did prefer the deformed four armed oddity.

But I have to agree with the above post, first thing that came to my mind after checking the images is that all of the concepts really look much more like they have been shaped to remind some particular type of their followers, or creations.

Rallos Zek looks more to me like a Sentinel from X-Men on steroids, and Cazic-Thule reminds me of Mr. Hyde in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie...  but that's just my opinion..  Also, Mithaniel Marr bears a strong resemblance to Super Shredder from the 2nd TMNT movie...

I am highly disturbed by the new trollish look of Innoruuk SMILEY and it makes me very sad. I hope that concept art is just a preliminary and when they make him he will revert back to his blue demon form.

That can't be Inny.    Looks just like a standard eq1 troll (luclin models) to me.  :smileyindifferent:

Yes was just reading that myself..

Was thinking that these maybe the Avatars rather than the gods... we will know if Miss Tranquility 2006 is a man who used to be an old Monk. SMILEY

The discrption of what comes to the Ogres just before the 2nd war, after they first green myst is lifted, sounds more like what we see for Zek's avatar of war than it does for Zek himself, similar but not the same, so my personal thinking is they are the avatars of the gods not the god's themselfs, thats why they look different.

Don't worry, I intend on updating it with a more full-body shot when I get the chance.

The problem is that I can't find any images of him anywhere on the Internet, so that just leaves me with using my digital camera and taking pictures of the TV screen itself like I did with Rallos Zek, Cazic Thule, and Mithanial Marr there.

I'll have to play through the Evil storyline of Return to Arms to get that, but I will get it.

Looks like part 2 of the article has been posted on MMORPG.com... Not much of surprises on the 4 remaining ones there, all of them just seems to look more like some particular race but still matched their EQlive concept/ingame version pretty much.

Way ahead of you. Already added them in.

These 4 look much nicer than the first 4.

Hehe, so I noticed - looks like my browser loaded up old stuff from cache which is why i wondered why even the updated Inny picture didn't show up. Anyhow, I wonder what that comment from Lyndro meant about them not exactly being the gods... Maybe it meant they appear in different forms from their own to mortals, or maybe they are the avatars although which would be bit silly considering what the exclusive story was all about.

Oh well, hopefully more about that in EoF. SMILEY

Indeed, that concept art isn't much more than a green version of the blue formal dress you buy from the city merchants.
