![]() Been awhile forgot if thats what it was called or not. These were the sunken spires in eq1 in the Timoruos Deep. when you dove into the water you could enter a hole in the ground that brought you too a room filled with air, one skeleton, and many firepots. The skelaton warned you about Faydedar, the dragon who swam the waters there, and the firepots would teleport you to cities across norath ............. inside the city. This was the evil druid rings so to say. THis was how the dark elf armies surprised the elfs of Faydwer, so it seems in the hints of the telling. I am curious what has become of this chamber? With Faydwer on its way and new lands springing up is it possible that this relic of trasnportation still exist and may reapear in the near future? I only ask this becuase i first found this place when i was level 5 newb dark elf necro in eq1 totally lost swimming in this huge body of water, then bam i find this. ( Found the dragon too the second trip over erg) It was a really awesome feeling of discovery and mystery at that time. Just kinda curious bout it now 500 years later. ![]() I"m sorry I never paid close attention to the stories but are you sure that the dark elves used teleportation to invade Feydwere? I thought it was said that they landed in Butcherblock and invaded from there, because the Dwarves and Gnomes were all involved also.

She drifted from this realm over four hundred years ago in the age of turmoil. It was the great war of the Fay, the war of elves. The elf empire of below and their allies challenged the combined nations of elf kind. Armies of tier'dal, orc, troll, and others crept towards the faydark hoping to crush the elves of the sun. I was but an adolescent, barely able to string a bow, yet I fought. My sister was in her prime, and she was a highly skilled scout, an elite soldier of the Scouts of Tunare. But even her skill could not prepare her or the tree city of Kelethin for the onslaught from the northern coast and the orc hordes of crushbone. It happened quickly. The forest empire of my people was greatly protected. No branch was without a lookout, the tall mast and far reaching ballistae of the koada'dal wavejumpers patrolled the coast, but still, we couldn't prepare for the arival. From the depths of burning wastelands of crushbone came the orc hordes. As we directed our efforts at repelling this force, an armada of war galleys approached the coastal mist. Some say they arrived via a titantic teleport built by the dark elves deep in the uncharted seas of the ocean of tears. Yet, still, they struct from an unexpected front. Near the heart of the Faydark, the most dangerous of the evil hordes arrived in a portal opened between the underworld and our forest, a portal bound by the ancient teleport spires. Wave after wave of tier'dal dragoon marched from this portal, a juggernaut marching towards the Koada'dal city in the clouded mountains, felwithe.
To possibilities of reference to miraguls highway, though both a little off.
Edit : Gnomes and dwarves showed up late, teir dal hit them first and put their car keys in high places ......... but no it was said they showed up after both wood elves and high elves took a serious beating and almost a loss. Message Edited by lillin on 06-12-2006 10:48 PM |

You can check here for some screenshots of it.It has a little information, nothing of which hasn't been stated here. I use to know of a website that had much better detail but it seems it got the shutdown since my last visit. :smileysad:You can also check out the lore discussion about this highway in EQ 1's lore discussion.

![]() Aye. I remember what it was. They had to change Timerous Deep so you couldn't bind yourself to that zone just so you can use the highway as a nexus to jump around the world back when Kunark came out.

Is this place connected (other than in name) to the zone in Everfrost, Miragul's Menagerie? and if so is it possible that it could be found in EF soon?

![]() No. The Firepot room was just acted as a one-way teleport to each of cities on Norrath. It was found in Timerous Deep, located between Feydwer and Kunark.

Possibly one of the reasons they are removing Tocks Mimbles and the other guy (sorry - can't remember the name) from the harbors? I know they weren't used that much so that is one reason but this could also tie into it.

The Timorous Deeps isn't actually that close to Faydwer, is it? I was under the impression that it was much closer to Kunark than Faydwer... so calling it a teleporter constructed in the Ocean of Tears might be pushing it slightly. I know at the very least that it used to be in the south-western part of the zone.As I recall... in all of the original EQ1 cities there were firepots that were clickable. THey had been intended to be used as an evil-players version of the Druid Rings for easy travel between the cities, but they were locked up after the game was released (GMs had the key, I believe) and made unusable. After Kunark came out, the hidden chamber with the firepot access points was released - but they were all one way. The original intention was to make it a fully functional teleport system of some kind, but it was removed for balance reasons; making every evil character capable of easy teleportation would kind of ruin the point.

![]() It shows on the Map that Timerous Deep is the Sea between Feydwer and Kunark, so yeah it covers that whole area. As to where the Ocean of Tears ends and Timerous Deep begins, I don't know.
