![]() I was in a exp group yesterday in Palace of the Awakening killing level 70s. Since they are level 70, they drop t8 status loot items. I looted an Emerald Amulet, but more importantly Faywax Sealed Document. Faywax - wax = Fay. Possibly wax from Faydwer? I also thought about this again, and thought maybe it is just Fay as in fairy. What do you think? Edit:CONFIRMED BY SOE TODAY, MAY 3! Interesting, as much as I hope that Faydwer is the next area we go to I think this Fay, just may be a misspelling of Fey. The Fey family consists of creatures like Fairies, Bixies and such. I would imagine that Bixies do produce some type of wax so that could support a case for Fay just being a misspelling of Fey.Although, there was a large concentration of Bixies on Faydwer in the Lesser Faydark and that area might produce alot of wax. And theoretically this wax could come to be known over the world as Faywax.Hard to know without more information, but personally I hope it refers to Faydwer. I was really hoping we would have been rediscovering continents at a bit faster pace, but I havn't seen everything we've rediscovered so far yet anyway so I'm not complaining. Here's hoping we find Faydwer soon

![]() My eq1 faydwer knowledge is rusty, but didn't one of the wood elf class guilds call themselves the emerald warriors or something? Just kinda curious if that may be another clue. If these are clues then good deal, if not oh well. Personally i would love to see faydwer again, but i dont mind them taking extra time to get expeceptional =) |

![]() Hmm... Granted, I don't think they would simply misspell Fey when they made the Faywax Documents. I mean, they spelled feyiron and feysteel correctly :smileyhappy: Then again, there are already Fayberries. Emeralds... Kelethin was home to the Emerald Warriors Who knows?

![]() Emeralds are green. Trees are green. Emerald Warriors protect the trees. Those amulets and Scrying stone are Tier 8 status items, that is true (800 compaired to 650,) but I doubt that Faywax would be any sort of hint. |

No kidding? Boy, I sure thought that they were named after actual emeralds. Like Kelethin was built on a big emerald mine, or maybe it was built on emerald trees! Who'd have thought it was one of them darn poetic licensesses thingamagiggers... I did not actually think that the Emerald Warriors were named after that particular beryl polymorph. I just figured that if I was a developer, and I was trying to think of what gemstone to put in the Faydark expansion's tier, I might as well pick the same one that an EQ1 faction was named after. Especially when, as you said, it is green and Faydwer is nice and green all over. Malacthite would be cooler, but they already wasted it on T1. It is by far my favorite mineral, and is so much prettier than emerald: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=malachite&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t&x=wrt Message Edited by troodon311 on 03-20-200612:42 AM

![]() Although I was a pally in EQ1 too and my starting city was Qeynos, I have the best memories of Faydark. That haunting music is still my favourite tune in any PC game (bar maybe the intro of Morrowind)(BTW does everybody turn on that Faydwer music box when in your home, cause I do :smileywink: )...Crushbone one of my favourite hunting places. Mistmoore and Unrest one of my fav dungeons, the port of Butcherblock one of my fav vistas and Felwhite one of the most beautifull starting cities..... SO.....any clue that may hint at the return of that continent makes me drool !! Wishfull thinking maybe, but I keep praying.

Yup and Felwithe too. Anyway....good catch with the Emerald Warriors. Is there any other possible place that has to do with Emeralds? P.S. I noticed that these are the Tier 8 items, and since some devs hinted that the next expansion might not have a level increase, I was thinking that two expansions from now would possibly be Faydwer. P.P.S. Since Vhalen has stated much has gone on in Odus with all that magic, possibly Faydwer could be next then Odus, since Odus would be a better place for a level cap since it seems more appropriate? |

![]() I just hope the devs add some new 1 - 50 zones. I'm getting sick of Commonlands or Antonica. |

![]() But wouldn't that mean that they'd have to give tier 3-4-5 tradeskill components for these zones as well? |

![]() To add more fuel to the fire - High Elf (Tunare Following) clerics in EQ1 imbued emeralds. It was needed for certain types of high elf imbued armor. The imbued armor was made from things that they used often, so hinting that high elves used a lot of emeralds.

![]() Good point, Krien, nice catch. I had forgotten about that. And if I remember correctly, emeralds were one of those rare drops that could drop off practically anything, so they were definitely in the Faydwer loot table.(Not that I think this is actually indicative of what the next expansion will be; like Krien said, just throwing fuel on the fire ![]() |

![]() Emeralds were the Imbuing gems of Tunare. It doesn't mean that high elves value emeralds just because thier clerics and paladins worship her. It just means that green is the closest associated color to nature and it makes sense to just put it in. That doesn't mean that emeralds were commonly found or in great supply.

![]() You mean harvest nodes? I don't think that'd be too difficult. And yeah as much as I enjoy playing my alts, it's starting to feel repetitive with regards to the same old zones. I guess EQ1 felt like it had more options as a low-level player because there were more than two hometowns, and their corresponding low-level zones (even though they weren't strictly tiered like EQ2), to start from. I don't see what would be so bad with an expansion pack having new content for both endgame AND mid-level players.

![]() Some more fuel: (from Tibbwini) Go to the USPTO website and search for Everquest and you get all the trademarks registered by SOE to the Everquest brand. Top of the list is "Everquest II - Echoes of Faydwer".I'm not sure how linking to the site directly works out, because it's the result of a search, so here's a screen grab. |

![]() Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't imagine SOE cares too much about the opinion of someone who is basically coming right out and saying: I am not your target market! |

![]() Well, that one was sooo big and sooo unsupported, without any proof, that it was just too much. IMO, just as unlikely as seeing SOE announce they would revamp the whole game and name it "The new player experience". ![]()

Ugh. Troll much? Why play then? Go away.
To the OP and others in this thread..... wow I would absolutely LOVE to see how Kelethin looks after post cataclysm. I agree, the music from those zones are my fav. I'm excited and can't wait to see what this holds. |
