Ive been playing this defiler for a while now after takin over him from a friend that quit, spent alot of dkp on him and generally playing him as my main twinking him pretty badly (alltough he was decent when i got him-got alot of M1) . A while before that happend i started leveling this mystic, got him to 60 eventually and he got brought along to some raids cause we lacked shamans in the guild so he got some no trade court of aa stuff nothing spectacular and mostly AD3 spells.

Which should i play once KOS hits? I had my heart pretty set on the defiler, then i saw bolster vs defile and we (finally) recruited another shaman, a defiler. A guildy is also leveling up a mystic and is pretty intent on makin that her main (but dunno if she'll succed and follow thru with it or not).

So the question rly is: Is bolster that good of a spell to switch from a raidtwinked rat of a defiler to a pussycat mystic with nothing out of the ordinary gear? Would u make that switch personally given the choice?

Thanks

If I had both it wouldn't matter what class I picked, they're equally good and needed. If I was forced to choose then due to marquee spell then I'd choose the Mystic, but I wouldn't have a Mystic or any other healer class for that matter. I prefer my Defiler heck thats the only toon I have and when I've feel I've done all I can with that I wont even do a healer as a new toon.oh why pick one of them, u have both so my suggestion would be do them both.... Short answer? No.People are blowing the differences between the two spells way, way, WAY out of proportion, and the Defiler one isn't even complete yet.  Mountains and molehills aren't even in it.  Play what you enjoy.  Over the course of beta I've been testing both classes alot and both are just as effective as they ever were.  The addition of one spell at level 65 does not change that in any way, shape, or form.  Even though both are shamen, they do play quite differently, and I prefer the Defiler to the Mystic, myself.  So in the end, play whichever you enjoy most based on the abilities they have, not just what spell they get at level 65 unless that is the only button you plan on pressing on that character once you level up.  Your guild situation may factor into it a bit, but I don't think 2 defilers on a raid would be all that bad anyway (and if your friend levels up her mystic then it's 2 of either defiler or mystic, either way)

Play the one you enjoy more.  2 defilers on a raid is not a bad thing.

AlWAYS play what you like to play the best, when push comes to shove its all about having fun and only about having fun.

That said if most raid efficiency is what you want then mystic is the way to go after bolster comes live, hands down not even a contest. No matter what people say bolster alone makes a mystic preferable to a defiler in ANY raid situation.

I wouldn't let a spell that doesn't even meet its description dictate the characters I play.  If a spell doesn't do what it says, it is due for a fix.  Even if it did not, I still wouldn't let one spell influence me that strongly.  I also would'nt make someone else's character my main .  Too many horror stories about the friend comming back are behind that outlook.
