I just got a parser and was curious to test out something simple. I tested how much difference the 199 Strength I can buff myself with as a 50 mystic helps my autoattack DPS. I used the same level and type of mob, ice frights in Everfrost 43 v solo mobs, green to maximize any effect it might have. My findings: Adding 199 Strength adds 5 (or less) DPS if all you do is autoattack.  Of course, no one just autoattacks, and every time you cast a spell you are autoattacking less, so the DPS added in a real situation would be even less. So while our Strength buffs are great when we group with a fighter, in solo situations they make next to no difference. The stamina (and agility on avatar) make them still worth using, but the strength doesnt help much. I found it interesting anyway, I was kind of hoping adding 199 strength would bump up my DPS a little more but oh well. Thought you all might find it interesting.

Hey atleast we can carry pretty much whatever we want with us. I used to melee during every fight, grouped or solo until after the revamp when i melee solo and in a group purely messing around for flavor mainly.

Raising your intellegence has a similar less than impressive result.

The reason INT means so little is because we don't have a big enough base number for the modifier to really grab on to. On a 300 point nuke, it just doesn't mean much. However, on nukes that run 1500 - 5000, yea, the modifier has something to grab on to and boost.

Only thing that i found really helped are the damage shield potions - as i have a 60 alchie i can use them everytime I'm forced to solo otherwise boredom overtakes me as i trade scratches with mobs....

They may not make much difference but why would you bother taking them off anyhow. /giggle

Only time mine are down is when I'm freshly dead or when I'm mentored down.

I still melee though, I can pretend that my 250 or so strength makes a difference.

While not the night/day difference a mage sees, when soloing having a decent int can make a BIG difference for us.  Once I got my pearl int buff ring and started using that buff on lots of mobs that were taking the 3rd round of dots I was watching them drop before the 2nd finished ticking out.  Now I run solo with 152 int with ring buff and while that's not stellar it does help drop the mobs to boost it a bit.

Knowledge is power, yada yada. Mostly just so we know in case anyone tries to use them as a justification for us having lower DPS from other factors.
