I'm new to EQ2 also. I'm reading that its easy to cap out wis at high level, but here's another question. If you aren't a raider, and don't have fabled gear and stuff, is it still just as easy to cap wis with lesser gear? I play on a pvp server, so I don't think I'll be doing a lot of raids.
yes.

Any which way you play, be it soloing grouping or raiding I'd recommend going stamina for all trainings.  You'd be surprised what an extra 300 hps can do.  Intelligence is good for spells and procs, but the problem is there will be times where you'll get damaged and potentially even one shotted.  Stamina is universally good and the way to go.

Reason to choose WIS?

Last time I checked it raised your cap. So at 70 cap = 490 without any traits but with traits selected you can go a bit beyond.

When I last checked I was lvl 60 and could get pwr/resist effects up to 60*7 + 20 = 440 (or something like that definitely was more than 420).

read what all the stats do for wardens an choose the one that suits ur regular play style... jus cos some ppl like to have their wisdom 200+ pionts above the cap does not mean everyone should. im more interested right now in why the OP respeced at lvl 9??

So the stats you gain from the traits raise your cap? I would test this, but as I said, I'm a lowbie and don't have gear that gets me anywhere near the cap yet.

Racial traditions do NOT raise the wisdom cap.  The wisdom cap is your lvl x 7 + base racial stat.  For me as a wood elf it's 510, end of story because I'm a wood elf.  I try as hard as I can to not go past that number because it's a waste, so I generally go for items with no wisdom if I can.  The dragonscale ring is a nice item, high power and health and all resists for a crazy amount is a good example.

Plus I agree with tinka, don't waste your respec!!!!!

Confirmed cap for me is 510. I am a dwarf. Racial trait is 25. So, doesnt seem cap is 70*7 +base.

Wow I must be a poor warden, I took wis at all my trait choices and at lvl 70 with a lil over 6300 self buffed power and 53flowing thought. i'm barely at 510 wis.. could personally stand to gain a few more to be sure i stay over cap if i find a peice of armor with more power then one i'm wearing but slightly less wis. wis/power god for wardens imo, u wont gain anywhere near as much effective hp by raising your stam to gain raw hp, raising your agil to avoid losing hp, or raising your int to kill stuff b4 it hit you again, as you will from enough power for one more regen cast that will heal ya almost 3k hp.

Dont listen to anyone that says otherwise, go WIS. It sounds like you won't be in a hardcore raid guild getting all the best equipment.

Wisdom will give you more power, and for grouping / soloing that is alot of what you will want. It will also give you higher resists across the board. Yeah, once you get level 70 and you max out all your gear you will find yourself with extra wisdom. Players that have done this use hindsight and say they should have gotten INT or STA instead. But who cares about 10 INT or STA anyway. It's no big deal.

Go WIS, it'll help you level and make you more effective.
