Maybe it comes from having my main as a ranger, but I like to solo. I have a level 40 templar that I'm working on at the moment and I've noticed templars have hardly any avoidance. When i'm in close combat, I get hit a lot and that can cause a lot of interrupts sometimes. Would having leather gear with high agility along with wis items be better for avoidance for the soloing player or any situation? Right now I'm wearing a full set of Nightblood armour. Thank you for any suggestions or comments in advance.

Hi,

I'm 41 templar and for a couple of recent levels tried using leather/chain armour for increased avoidance.

But - it didnt work i'm afraid.

You generally lose too much mitigation for only a much smaller increase in avoidance.

Typically i noted on changing ONE armour piece i lost 1.2% mitigation but only gained 0.4% avoidance

Simply not worth it.

And the interupts are supposedly based on our focus skill anyway.........  /shrug

just go for Leather if u want some avoidance, and dont bother AGI, u need both Wis and Int (alot of int i am sure) to solo

I wouldn't go ALL Nightblood for soloing - Ebon gauntlets have nice WIS, and imbued breastplate and leggings would help soloing a bit too.  But like a mitigation tank, you aren't ever going to be able to get significant avoidance, so I would not recommend trying at the expense of power and mitigation. I found the low 40's (until 44) very painful post LU13, due to the spell upgrade cycle.

I belong to a tradeskill heavy guild so this gives me a pretty nice leg up -44 Kerran Templarall Pristine Forged Ebon Vanguard armor (except boots which are Feysteel until I can wear my JBoots). BP, Legs are imbuedPristine Imbued Cedar BucklerPristine Divinely Imbued Cedar WandIts pretty much top of the line stuff.  Harvesting the rare ores is a bear. Buying them on my server is even worse.  But I have no trouble soloing - unless its a heroic mob.
