Obviously, after the patch, and the fact at 28 I get 3 new spells throughout this level, I really need to work out a "method to the madness". I currently only use 2 hot bars. Currently, heals and that type on line 1, and debuffs and dmg spells in bar 2. This is already grossly ineffiecent, but is going to get worse. (for good reasons imo) I have figured that will move buffs to the frist page of my book, so then I won't even have to go to any hotbar for those(k then click cast i figure).

What ideas do have about:

1. How many hotbars do you think a temp needs to have??

2. Do yuo group your reactives, and instants?

3. What about grouping in cast order??

4. What are musts to have up, what just nice???

I know that this is very subjective, but really just looking for some ideas to help me develope a style.

Thanx

I personally have 5 hotbars up. SMILEY same style I used for my Troubadour (since scouts have a lot of moves). My 5th bar is always all the buffs and rezzes and such since they are used less.1st bar is always the crucial heals.2nd bar is the debuffs. All the frequently spells never reach no.6 on the bar. That way, my fingers can always reach no. 1-5 and ALT and CTRL 1-5. So all my crucial spells are on hotbar 1-3.Anything that I have to click using mouse, i.e, no.6 and beyond or hotbar 4+5 is something I don't use too often.

3 Bars fit just nicely at the top of the screen in the black. 1st bar is attack and then single target reactives. Tehn mutlit target reactives. Then single heals and multi heals. bar 2 has debuffs then dot and at the end has gnomish babbling, hate reducer, and call for help. 3rd bar has run HO starter and then nukes. 4th bar has buffs but I just switch to that when necessary.

I use 5 bars also.  My primary bar has my BoV, SP, CH and my debuffs. the 2nd 3rd and 4th bars have my buffs, group heals, misc spells and random buttons i use a lot and the 5th bar is mostly for my grouping macros so that i have common phrases  ready without having to stop and type in combat (eg, "out of Power", "ready" "run!" etc).

Normally, this would be an insane clutter of a mess, but I was turned on to www.eq2interface.com a few weeks ago.  They have all sorts of (Sony sanctioned) UI modifications that make this do-able without sacrificing (too much) viewing area.  Specifically, for my hotbars, i have a mod that shrinks their size to a little bit less then half of their default out-of-the-box size.  There are otehr ones that streamline the chat windows (i have 3 up at any one time, sometimes 4), the xp bars, the Quest journal, etc.

If you're an obsessive hotbar/info window person like I am, you'll find a lot of cool stuff there.

I just moved from 2 to 3 hotbars at level 30.

My first hotbar is for spells I use all the time in combat, with Intercession, Caulria's (just replaced BoV), Supplicant's, Arch healing, Amelioration and Amending Fate on one side, auto-attack, Combative Faith, Admonishing Smite, Celestial Strike, Rebuke and a spot to switch out Enemy strikes on the other.  (I group with a mage all the time, so I want all those nukes handy for triggering the Arcane Chalice HO).

My 2nd hotbar is spells I occasionally use in combat, such as Mark, cures, battle rez, an activatable item slot, Yelling for Help, sprint, and a few social macros for assist, announcing adds, etc.   My 3rd hotbar is for buffs, from Protectorate and Symbol to Watery Respite.  I also keep my Call to Qeynos up on my 3rd hotbar.

I use 4 but I could have only three up during combat.  1st bar is heals, anti-aggro and single target cures.  Second is nukes, debuffs and HO starter.  Third is random stuff and group cures.  Fourth is buffs and other random stuff.

Wow, those of you that can keep up with 4 and 5 bars is amazing to me. Seems to be a lot of screen sapce for me.
I did however after taking sometime to look the new specilties over figured out that i can still run with the 2 of my most essential stuff. I have my aggro management spells in the third line, that I simply drop too if needed, other things like food and runn are here as well. But, i hvae been pretty fortunate becuase i seem to get adept 1s of my most crucial heals almost right after I can use them. CSV, Ameloration, and ( forgot the name) 2nd level group reactive have eliminated there predecessors. So, i am set up something like this:

Hotbar 1 reactives, instants, and group heals, battle revive

Hotbar 2 macro call, HO trigger, debuffs then damage spells

K.I.S.S. (hehe) maybe one day i will be talented enough to run more but for right this handles most of the stuff i get into

BTW thanx all for your ideas

I use 4 hotbars, similar to the above posters.  I find that an important thing to do is keep the hotbars, or the hotbar with your heals, next to your party bar, making it a minimal effort to click on the party member, and clicking the spell you need.

I only have 3 myself at level 25.  First bar is sprint, summon foods, buffs and other stuff I hardly use.   Instead of grouping mine towards lines though the other two I have the more frequently casted stuff in the center.  My CV, ArchHealing are in the center of bar 2 and Combat Heal, and Soothing Sermon in center of bar 3.  Nukes are on the left of these and Debuffs/Amending Fate type spells are on the right.  As far as casting order thats pretty much determined by level.  I usually open up with CV, disgrace, weakness, another CV and throw in damage spells if my power isn't dropping very fast.
