So do the Holy Acolytes do anything, or is it just like a familiar that does not attack?

Right, the Acolyte is simply for "fun", and perhaps to provide a bit of a chance for roleplay (if you do that).

Wow...he doesnt do anything at all?  Thats crazy for a 45 spell lol.  Not even like a random heal or ANYTHING??  Thats a disappointment.

Well, he/she isn't a level 45 spell per se. It's a flavor spell, like Faith Respect or Detect Evil. It isn't given to you when you level to 45, you have the option of buying it. Most classes have a bought pet that is useless, the acolyte is just our version.

Can anyone post a screenshot of what the Acolytes look like?  Thanks in advance.

Sure, here's 2 screenshots of a female version of our Acolyte. There is also a male one. They both have randomly generated features and names. Their height and clothing remains the same however.

However, I am a complete forum newb and can't get the images into the post itself /sadface.

One question I was curious about Auria,

Can you cast 'faith respect' on your acolyte?
Or maybe make them clap or cheer or something?

It'd be like having your own fan club following you around!
:smileyvery-happy:

LOL, well that would almost make it worth it to buy both of the spells, just to pass the time while you were bored, or anytime you needed you ego re-inflated.  =p

It is sad to hear that it does absolutely nothing, I was hoping it would be like the rogue's rat.  That will sometimes attack the mob and often will hold the mob's attention for a second or 2 before it buys it when the rogue runs away.  That atleast would make the atocolite worth something or being able to order them around a bit.

"Run back to Qeynos and fetch me some drink!"
"Go taunt that mob...I don't care that it is a lvl 45 and you are a lvl 3, just do it!"
"Here take this strongbox and wade out into that water until I tell you to stop...Yes I know that you can't swim while holding the box."
"Run straight until I tell you to stop...yes I realize that there is a cliff there, but I have faith that you can fly...(for about a second)"

I'd have so much fun with that.  *grins evilly*

I kind think that all pets function like that rat though. Maybe if someone can try it out and the acolyte actually help you out if you running away from mob or when mob does AE attack.

Go to Qeynos Harbor. Go to the scribe marked on your map in the southern part of the zone. Walk directly across the street. Inside that shop should be 2 scribes/sages. The one of the left will sell you the Holy Acolyte scroll.
