I think they made this change since our FD will no longer be 100% successful.

If not, you would be (even more of a) sitting duck after you cancel and wait for the recast to try again.

I died the first time I tested this out...mob saw right through it and munched me...still 15min recast. Seems that if this isn't going to work 100% of the time, the recast could be more manageable like 5 mins (too long for using constantly during grinding, but a little better wait for those 'must have' times)

Ouch.

I wonder if they could differentiate the recast for failed or successful?  I can just see it now -

My guild fighting some ^^^ and things go bad -

GL - ok necros fd so we can recover and try again!!

Me - Doh failed FD

Necros 2,3,4 and 5 - Me too....looks like its going to be a long walk

Raid member x - guess I'll get my shard tomorrow it's late

Me - :smileysad:

honestly i didn't think that the 100% FD was really unbalancing i think it whould remain instead of being nearly useless probably now because with a 15 minute cast it was bad enough now you can wait 15 minutes use it and have it fail.  the recast needs to be changed if we getting it toned back.

Is there a 100% FD right now ? I have had it fail on me a few times especially if the raid mob has started attacking me.
However, it never failed if I cast it while the mob was beating on some other group/ raid member.

If they changed it so it can fail even then we are in BIG trouble.
You FD. Instead "you fall to the ground". Recast timer is 15mins. Wow thats a royal screw.

It gets "broken" just like it did in EQ1 when you get AE damage, and that has happened to me on raids more than once.  If you get aggro and are being melee'd to death, an uninterrupted casts works 100% of the time and the mob loses interest.

The issue with FD in my situation is the fact that the only time I ever really need it is avoiding death in raids, but if the raid wipes and I am the lone survivor (or the other necro in the guild), I never lose aggro, as most of the stuff has the zone-wide radar in use and they come flying back to finish me off.

The standing procedure is for everyone to die and just revive at the zone in and move back to our spot and start over.  Sadly for myself and the other necro, it pretty much makes FD and Revivication useless in our capacity.  I've never brought back a raid force that way yet...

i would agree, if its going to have the chance to fail then we ought to get a much faster reuse time (15 mins is well over the top) it is nice that it wont dispel buffs and pets now though - that was just annoying and unescessary.
