DPS? You judge.

This post is for the people that believe Necro DPS is at par with rogue/warlock. If you have a better strategy, please let us know.Couple of things, 1. This is discussion, I love my necro too. As a DPS class I would love to see it excel. Yes, we are a dps class, if not, what are we then?2. This chart holds good till 42, before "skinrot"3. All figures are average [ie. (min+max)/2]4. Most of these figures are from spells that are Adept-1, some are App-2 (which usually we get a training option for!)5. Any nukes more than the following at earlier stages seems to get aggro6. You might add Rats/Hounds somewhere in the middle, adds about 100 to total damage.7. My RT Adept-3, with Wow & RF (Adept-1s) does about 30 to 40dps.8. I know there is a revamp in combat system going on, I am looking forward to it too. The dps seems to go flat around 70dps with time.(I have calculated the chart till 60 sec, as it is easier in excel.)10. Last couple of seconds, you can nuke as much as you want, that will increase your dps slightly. But that will consume huge power.11. So over a "30 sec" fight we just cross the 100 mark [65(necro)+35(pet)=100]. (Practically tested it.) And we are nowhere in 20 sec or less fights.12. Where as Assassins in 30 secs do like 4200-4500 damage (145dps)13. Warlocks do about 5000-5500 damage, in 30secs (ie 175dps)

That is on hellova screwed up table. Right most figures are dps, the figure before that are the cumulative damage.

That is not the correct spell order for a short fight necro, a longer fight substitute dogs for bats, squeeze bats in somewhere else.  For your level: +2 Grisly Mark +4.5 Pestilential blast +7 Ghastly Stench +8.5 Swarm of bats +10 Pestilential blast +14.5 Withering affliction +17 Pestilential blast +20.5 Locust Swarm +23 Pestilential blast +25.5 Bloody ritual +28 Pestilential blast +30.5 Ghastly stench etc. I haven't met a tank yet that couldn't handle that rotation, your tank needs to step it up if they can't.

Barleypop,All that damage you mentioned, are already in there. The table gets messed up, so I put it this way. The damage (as single damage) (where you mentioned, what the total damage should be) is at the first tick! Other ticks are calclulated over the time. Thats why you see the total cumulative damage has much higher figure than what is done at that tick.So if Ghastly Stench did 77 dmg at 7th tick, it also did 76 dmg at 11,15,19,23 and 27th tick. Similarly other spells are calculated too.Nope, it never exceeds 70dps.============================
