![]() I just wanted to take a minute to thank SoE for what I believe to be a great job on their efforts wtih the Conjuror class. As is human nature people generally post when they're upset rather then pleased, and so the boards often appear a litany of complaints about something they feel is botched. And many of these complaints may have merit (as an example i don't particularly like the new Aery Hunter graphic). But overall I think SoE has done a fantastic job with this class--and put some serious thought and effort into it. Examples: We now have 3 different pets for different situations (as opposed to exclusively using the tank pet) 3 unique new spells that are NOT just spell line upgrades. For me this is the most important point--taking the time to develop a completely new spell or ability instead of just upping the damage is what makes me look forward to new expansions. It's also what makes the world of EQ2 and it's class interaction more and more interesting as the game evolves. A great balance of solo and group ability. And some impressive DPS.... Call of Hero gives Conjurors a unique and irreplacable role in raids. Thank you!!! There's plenty of others but i'll cut it short for now. Thanks again--i look forward to the future expansions... ![]() ditto, best class I have played, Adept 3 tank pet and adept 3 defensive stance at lv 30ish can keep single target agro even against racial smite and master 1 tremor! New pet images are fine, not perfect not bad, not hugely fussed, i like it the way there is 1 per model per spell, make is simpler and more reconisable.
It appears to be a very fun and well balanced class, that if played well can solo and group well, but you do need to keep you wits about you as that add will kill you even before you know you are under attack.
Good job.

![]() Well, I replied to this thread in the spirit of the original poster to offer praise for a wonderful class. However, in all fairness I feel I must point out that the only reason I play and enjoy my Conjurer is that my Templar has been so destroyed in my opinion that I abandoned my level 57 Templar and now almost exclusivly play my 28 Conjurer: mercurial88 wrote:

So, my intent in making this post is to add my name to the list of people who love their conjurer but please also keep in mind that many classes are not as well off and have legitimate reasons to complain. |

Brutus has a point, but I agree wholeheartedly with the OP when it comes to Conjurers. Frankly, for all the grievances we've had/have as a class, my Conjurer is everything I ever dreamed for my EQ1 mage. When you wait 5 years for SoE to fix the fire pet in EQ1 (did they ever fix that?) and then look what they've done for our class already in EQ2 it kind of puts it into perspective.

but yes I love the conjurer class in EQ2 took a litttle wile to get use to him, from what an eq1 mage was. but at lvl 40 I rock. I am out DPS any class at my level. I am able to solo lvl 30 heroic / / / and live. I do miss my summon moster line of spell, "only because I would summon a Sand Giant in oasis or a cyclops in westen Commanlands and run by a newbie camp yelling. it never got out seeing them run in terror :smileytongue: and I wish SOE would gie us a few more item to summon like Lev. ![]() The conjuror class is indeed fun to play.. when things are working correctly. The pet graphics, line of sight, and the horrid pathing in dungeons are all part of the class however and I refuse to ignore those problems and praise SOE for doing a few other things right. Maybe if they were more prompt in addressing them I would be but this company let's these issues linger on and on and on and on.. :smileymad: Message Edited by StaticLex on 12-24-2005 06:28 AM

![]() I am very happy overall. I think most of the major complaints we had way back have been addressed (horrible pets, awful dps in xp groups, etc). Things like the new pet graphics are pretty trivial considering the condition we were in at release. |

![]() I too have had a great fun time as a Conjurer. Sure there were a lot of rough spots but it has never been boring. After playing a pet class in eq-1 , I was going to do something different but very glad I didn't. |

"Nearly all of the Templar spells from 50-60 are exactly what you said, just increased the numbers and slap a new name on it. Nothing really new or creative at all. Just pure upgrades to the spells we already have. I am glad to hear the devs actually tried to give Conjueres something new to look forward to. As a Templar, when I gained a new level post 50 I would just replace the old icon with the new icon and go on my way same as always. Ho hum. No new spells to try out and develop strategy with. "my conj cannot heal my conj cannot tank the templar boards are elsewhere......"- One of the biggest complaints about Templar. Now I understand that healers should not have DPS. If I wanted major DPS I would have created a Scout or Mage. I am truly ok with healers being at the bottom of the DPS ladder. But our DPS is so bad that soloing is the most boring, torture you can imagine. It takes me a good 5 minutes to solo something at my level which another class can take down in a fraction of the time. Not to mention the downtime waiting on power even with good drink. We need self only damage shields or something to add a little DPS when soloing without adding to our group DPS."my conj cannot heal my conj cannot tankthe templar boards are not here....."- Yet another disappointing aspect of Templar. Unless I am in the MT group I am useless. All my buffs, procs and most powerful heals are group only. I basically can only cast my 2 direct heals on the MT and have nothing else to do."my conj cannot heal my conj cannot tankI see zero logic in comparing the abilities of these two classes at all...one is a mage one isntthe templar boards are not here.....

![]() Conjurors are very powerful and have had neary all bugs removed, but I find the class boring now...problem with EQ2 is fights simply lalck strategy. I really miss being able, or having to use, my skills and brains. By limiting possible exploits, there is little of VARIANCE I can do, after a while it just gets WAY too repetitive or inane (refuse to ever go through hoops again to get access/raids blah blah).I'm preffering playing Battlefield2 to EQ2 mostly because the game play is so varied. EQ2 really needs far more variance in combat, conjurors needs to be more SUMMONS and less nukes/AOEs that don't feel like summons at all...feels like a warlock with a pet...For example, Aqueous hunter type spells are great. Tremor is...why is that a conjuration?? After playing a templar, oh yah, they suck BIG time. |

The original poster commented that he was tired of seeing all the negative complaints from other classes and he wanted to do something different by giving SOE some praise for a well balanced class. He did this by listing all the things he liked most about Conjurer. My point was simply that all the other people who complain about their class have legitimate reasons to be unhappy. I illustrated my point by showing that all the things he liked most about Conjurer are exactly what is wrong with many other classes. Hopefully a Dev might see this and say, "Hmm. these are the things that conjurers are happiest with and clearly these are the areas we have failed in some of the other classes." The purpose of my post was NOT to compare the two classes. The purpose was to illustrate that thing things which make a class fun to play were done well with Conjuers but not with other classes. I simply wanted to say that if the devs want to make the other classes as much fun as the Conjuer, they should look at the types of things the OP pointed out.
This statement has me uterly confused. Conjurers (by use of the Earth pet) are far, far, far better tanks then Templars. The thing that makes a tank is the ability to taunt. Earth Pet can taunt, Templars can not. So the only thing we can do that you can't is heal. Oh, yea... Conjuers can heal your pet (tank) too. But like I said, I was never trying to compare the two classes. Obviously you can't compare a mage to a priest. I was only looking at general, overall things like the ability to solo and usefullness in a raid. I was not comparing specific abilities or spells.

I just came back from a 6 month break from EQ2. I was amazed at how powerful my conj had become. I was even more amazed that people didn't sigh and roll there eyes when I flashed a "lvl 29 conj lfg" on the chat channel. I have no problems finding a group no matter when I'm on. So kudos SOE for the awesome revamp on this class. The pets work as their supposed to and I'm equally as valuable in groups as soloing. I just can't say enough about it. A huge improvement from 6 months ago. I have other alts, but I just like playing my conj better. I wouldn't be surprised if I turn into a hardcore gamer and blast my social life to hell on my way up to 60. Enjoy your new, more powerful conj

I agree with the concensus here. (I am also a devastated Templar - although he is level 60 with Adept 3 minimum spell line). Conjurer is fun to play. True, I die a lot, specially when my tank pet is unable to keep aggro and the mob find me an easy prey. However, that makes me think before casting any pet heals or nukes. In addition, the strategy in solo versus group is totally different. Unlike my Templar, fights are over quickly (with either mob dies or I die) and there is not a single moment where I am not doing soomething.Just to reiterate, this board members and eq2 summoners website has been Godsend for me. Love you guys

![]() I agree, some people have been far to negative and I I have the feeling AA's maybe playing a far more important aspect in the future for all classes, possibly why they made the changes they did to begin with but who knows? (Can't read minds yet, I think that ability belongs to the Coercer class anyway) :smileywink: 2006 should be an interesting year..especially with several other MMPORG's coming online, the competition is hotting up. :smileywink:

![]() For SOE Only: The conjuror class is bad.......worse thing they made........can;t solo things for 5 mins, can't get frustrated because everyone else can do quests and you can't. OK SOE ....thread done for you...........I know since it from GSO you will not look at it anyways Real Post:
We Freaking rock......I have a 58 templar, and it is a said....PAINFUL. My conjuror is the reason I have not taken another vacation from the game. I even out killed a warlock doing goblins in SS.....and the Scribe gnoll 20 secs was the fight....I blew him the flock up. It was so much fun.
