Edit: I tested it out on a mob that nuked 1k to 1500 previously with beguile M1, still does.. maybe the pet got the nerf.

I tried dominate adept3 and that was hitting for the same as beguile m1 or maybe a little bit less.

I did the test with a app1 befriend also and that hit for a lot less than the others.

I have a feeling that the master version of charm has been nerfed down to only being a tiny bit better than adept3.

Well, I tried both on the mob that normally hit 1 k to 1500 with beguile M1, with dominate adept III it hit for meh, 700 to 1200 or so...

Not sure how much the pet your talking about used to nuke for, but 500 would be a bit of a drop if it nuked high considering my level is 48, and my pets nuking for more (I think it's a warlock pet) seems like it has something to do with pet abilities possibly, I'll try more see what I find..

Trying to think of the big nukers off of the top of my head...

NPCs are loaded with random AI scripts. This means which spells they are loaded with, and what order they use em in will not always be the same.

In my experience, every single priest NPC I've charmed has a direct nuke and at least one DoT. And in my experience, if the nukes are around 1.5-2k, then the dots are around 400-500 per tick.

Me thinks you just saw the visionary dotting instead of nuking. I've had some priests that used two dot lines (saw two seperate ticks of damage on offset times.. like 1s: 300, 2s: nothing, 3s: 500, 4s: nothing, 5s: nothing, 6s: nothing, 7s: 300, etc).

Turn on "pet damage" in your chat window and look at the names of the spells he casts.

I can tell you from my own personal experience this evening (as of like 2 hours ago), my Master 1 Beguile had a Fury pet nuking for 3600, and dotting for 400. I like furies. :smileywink:

our coercer just had a wizard pet charmed that casted ice comet for 5k+.

so if charm really got nerfed 500% it would have nuked for ... um ... 20k+ before ?

charm is pretty awesome, dont see how it is nerfed, except if you mean compared to beta.  I've had quite a few pets that are doing 400dps per fight, or just charm a fury pet 4tw, they nuke and heal np np
