Yeah.  Looks like I picked the right day to retire my Coercer.

Good job, Sony.  I was spending more time online than was good for me anyways...

What root are you talking about in particular?

Can you give me a 1 line witty remark also please ?

The root spells are being changed on test, so when you say your root works fine, its being changed.

After 4500+ posts, you would think someone would read the test update notes.

Thank you for being more specific.  Well, if it has been changed on test. I am not playing on test. Therefore it seems fine to me at the moment, spells on test often change before live, I assure you if I have any issue with it when it goes live, I will give my feedback on the matter. Hopefully you see where I am coming from, I do have a test character, once in a great while I will go in there to check things out, but very rarely. And in my opinion, that was not a witty remark, just a statement, no one had mentioned on this topic that it was about the current root spell on test, ok? I do read the test update notes, but you never know exactly how the changes will affect you until you experience it yourself. Just to add...
Coercer changes: - The Coerce lines now last longer and have fewer chances to break. - Spell Lash now targets an encounter. - Recklessness had its DPS amount increased. - Unnerving Stare now drains more power. - Withering Silence now drains more power. - Ego Strike now has a small chance of breaking when damage is received after the root is applied. - Forced Hesitation now makes resistance checks less often, but has a small chance to break when taking damage. - Terrible Awe will no longer prevent its targets from being hit by other AoE effects. Its duration has been reduced. - Sybyllant now has a faster cast time, no longer requires power cost over time, and will trigger up to 3 times at 100% rate. - Spell Lash now has a faster cast time, costs less power, and can trigger up to 3 times at 100% rate. - Despotic Mind upgrades now do damage at the intended rate. Enchanter changes: - Charm now lasts longer and has fewer chances to break. - Daunting Gaze now drains more power. - Overwhelming Silence now drains more power. - Veil of the Unseen now prevents indirect area of effects. - Ego Shock now has a small chance of breaking when damage is received after the root is applied. - Binding Light now makes resistance checks less often, but has a small chance to break when taking damage. Is that what you are talking about?
And also, what are you going by to know those changes are bad?

Fixed.. . Really didn't mean it to sound that way.

Well, looking overall... If charm does get as reliable as it seems in the update on test, if roots do break more that should make up for it. Of course we will not see though until it makes it live, I'm not worried about it myself.

No, not at all. Someone starts a topic like this with no details about the issue they have. What else am I to do but ask questions? If you are referring to this statement " Well, looking overall... If charm does get as reliable as it seems in the update on test, if roots do break more that should make up for it. Of course we will not see though until it makes it live, I'm not worried about it myself." Simply pointing out other things may balance out IF roots break more. Sure, whatever... Obtuse....

pretty much the only thing chanters have been talking about since wednesday is the nerf to our root.  you are clearly a VERY active poster.  i was sincerely curious whether you genuinely did not know what was going on, or just passive-agressively trying to get the OP to be more descriptive. from the posts that followed, it seems to me that its the latter, i.e. saying what you were trying to do was get someone to tell you what the issue was....when you didnt ask what the issue was...you just asked what root in particular, and then proceeded to be passive-agressively and purposefully obtuse (imo).

I thought it was about the current form of the spell. Simply that. My apologies... I did not mean it to seem that way.

Well...

I have said that our root is a too good as it is. And I still think it needs a tweek.

But when SOE says that there will be a small chage to brake on damage I cant help but look back at the ressistance patch:

 - It is now slightly harder to land spells and combat arts on orange con mobs.

Yeah right!

I guess "a small chance to brake on damage" what mezz have.

Regards,

JackAll

Yeah, the dreaded slightly term is rapidly approaching the status of bad joke. I understand they hope people won't make mountains out of molehills by reading too much into patch notes, but it really wrecks their credibility when major changes are  passed off as minor. Having something like a 600% increase in the rate in which something happens shouldn't be classified as 'slightly'.
