![]() I would like some feedback as to how often other Illu use the short duration Int buff to a group. I realize that by increasing Int you can increase all stats related to it. But given it's short duration and long recast time. I was wondering how often it's truly used. Personally I use it very little. One thing that I do miss from my enchanter from EQ1 is the Single target hate increase/reducers. Now granted currently our counterparts have the increase to hate. But what about adding a spell to reduce hate for the illusionist? Unless it's just me and this spells usefullness has slipped past me, then the spell could be replaced to with a line of spells that decrease the aggro from a target. I think the re-use timer would be alright given what it is at present. But it would be a way to aid the group healers or other members of the party that accidently got more aggro than they should. Any thoughts on this?

![]() If you mean In groups and raids I use it for fights against named to provide more dmg from the Wizzies and Warlocks in my group.

Seeing every lvl 60 mage I know (except 1) is at the Int Cap I never use Transient Sentiment. Same kinda issue with Savant, 99.9% of all fights no one runs out of power, so I don't use Savante either. I kinda like the idea, Coecers would increase agro to a target and we would descrease agro for a target.

Well, I find it useful in Poet's Palace: The Return on the 4th floor, that extra subjugation/etc. doesn't change resist rates very much, but it changes them enough to make a slight difference for the group. As for Savante, I use it on fights where I know power is going to be an issue, or when somebody in the group just died, I toss it up, along with Devitalizing Stare right after they die to get power back to them. Basically I find them most useful against the high orange encounters, or encounters that are long fights.

![]() i only use transient sentiment under 2 conditions. 1 - mob is lvl 65 or higher 2 - right before the pull, if im mezzing its usually not really necessary with the pull to mezz, but then again the faster the mobs get mezzes the faster ppl can start using their encounter aoes, so its nice not really having to worry about a resitst as much and as for savante and devitalizing stare, i only use them on fights where mana is an issue, such as the nameds in PPR...we never got a ring from that zone so we need every [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] point of mana we got to take out any hard nameds.

![]() I was wondering if the spell was affected by the cap for Int. If it is, then at high levels it would seem very pointless. I do appreciate the feedback on both how those spells are used and on the idea. Would a de-aggro spell on the same type of timer as the int buff spells be resonable?

![]() I would really love to have a deaggro spell, similar to the sorceror's Concussion. But im not so sure id like it on the same timer.

We do have 2 deaggro spells :a personal one, which i forgot the name off,and Personal Allies, which wipe the hate table if they survive for 15 seconds.I do use transient sentiment all the time we fight a mob that put up resistance enough. For very short fights its not much use. For raids I keep it going all the time. You get int ( power+ damage for casters ), Wis ( resistance for all, power for priests ) and focus ( less failures if your hit ). I find it does a lot of good and the cast time is short enough for me to slip it in there once in a while. Would love it as a permanent buff

![]() Illusory Allies is not a "de-aggro." It is, in most cases, you're going to die if you use it, unless the mob has been debuffed enough not to kill them, that being the mob is trash, the mob has just used it's AoE, etc.Uhm, Transient Sentiment adds INT(117-ish), Focus/Disruption/Subjugation/Ordination/Ministration(45ish) at Adept 3. It adds no WIS. And most mages in a raid are already self-capped for INT, so it doesn't add "more power/damage" for mages. Also the resist difference is a joke. I've had 400 subjugation(Troub, Warlock, and me with transient sentiment up), welp, still got 2 resists on a 65 in a row, and with around 380 Disruption, I still get resists on 68s that are quite high. Also focus, uhm, you get hit, you die. Why bother with less interupttions when being hit, considering you're going to die before you get interrupted. And our personal "de-aggro" teleports us randomly 10 meters, hits up to 8 targets in a PBAoE spread of 5m radius, and only drops hate by 117. The primary taunt for a Level 60 tank is around 800 hate. Also blink can cause spell procs to go off, thus making it no longer a de-aggro, but an aggro increaser for you.Stupefy is NOT an Illusionist spell, thus cannot be counted as a de-aggro spell as we will see it disappear come LU19(Thursday!).

This would be similar to bards. Dirges have a single target hate increaser, whereas Troubadors have a group aggro decreaser that works on any non-fighters in the group.

![]() I wish i could remember the full names from EQ1. But to give the idea, the spells were about a 2 min down timer and lasted for like ten seconds on a single target. I was thinking of a group de aggro spell of similar nature.

![]() You all are forgetting barrier of intellect. lol. unless you posted and i misread. BoI is a cool spell, but it isn't worth the recast timer, especially when in two hits you die and there is no automatic refresh upon death. I loved stupify for both the hate reducer and the stun. of course we have blink, but better hate reducers would be way better. the mezzing nuke is useless, i say bring back stupify and make that line the same with the stuns, specially since or roots never hold when we need em too. One spell that i would like to have return though, that i think would be fun, is Whirl till you hurl as an aoe mezz. Message Edited by KniteShayd on 02-02-200606:36 PM |

Hehe, barrier of intellect. Yeah not the greatest, but it can save you sometimes in a group situation. Those stuns it gives off aren't terrible, because even if the tank can't taunt it off you in time, it can give you time to cast a long stun. And it can also be useful in duels!

![]() barrier of intellect? its [Removed for Content]. the deaggro doesnt really do much. see the thing is, to steal aggro from some1, ur hate level has to be X amount higher than theirs. in other words, u can still have slightly more hate than a tank and not take aggro. a real deaggro needs to be around twice that number, so that this way the tank's hate becomes X amount higher than urs, giving him aggro back. these spells we have are not deaggros, but simply hate reducers. they do reduce hate, but not enough to deaggro the mob to u. small hate reducers are good when used before a player steals aggro, this way they can dish out more DPS without worrying too much. barrier of intellect, due to its low reduction (compared to the value of X, whatever it is exactly), acts more as a hate reducer than a deaggro. and if a mob is already beating on u, u want a deaggro, not a hate reducer.
plus, has any1 else noticed that it only procs 3 times? so if u aggro a group of mobs ur screwed anyway, and even the stun wont help u.
