![]() Just felt that i had to post that i was quitting the game so that the devs can see this for their own eyes (if they ever decide to check this board). Maybe one more cancelled acct should help sony get their heads out of their [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn].

![]() Wow... sorry to see this happen I realize the pleads to have patience must sound pretty hollow at this point, and implying changes for us are right around the corner are as redundant as hearing your name called amongst a group of close friends you see every day... but I really feel that the Devs are cooking up some meaningful changes for us. It will take time, and probably adjustments to the mobs, other classes and game, but I feel pretty confident they are working on it. Ah well... hopefully you didn't totally destroy your characters and will check in from time to time and see if a change may interest you into playing again. Stay safe and take care.

I am sorry to see another chanter quit. Honestly I can see why though. We have nearly no place/role at present. We can solo, but slowly... why bother? On heroic encounters we are completely eclipsed by certain other classes that can chain stun named heroics. (at least they can't do it on epics anymore). We are basically mana batteries on epic encounters. Whats left? We have no real role in ANY aspect of the game. I am still holding out for something. Moorgard said that they are reviewing enchanters on at least the epic content. I will see what comes of it. Honestly though, I may be following you out the door too. Chrysostom 60th Illusionist, AB

![]() Honestly its not just the screwed up class. Well yeh of course thats part of it, but theres alot more than that. First, its the whole attitude we got. Silent nerf to savante, silent nerf to stun/stifle durations, silent nerf to barrier of intellect......then an unbelievable amount of nerfage to our mezzes and roots.....of course the useless mana drains....and why the &#^** cant prismatic havoc be raid castable. When the revamp first hit, those were probably the best few days for an enchanter. An UBER root (which we all knew would be nerfed though), and the ability to mess around with epics. Oh ya, and we didnt have to cast breeze 500 times per raid. Then all that was gone...and why? Who knows....maybe its cuz the devs dont play enchanters so they dont care...maybe its cuz there arent many enchanters in the game so it doesnt really matter if we all quit....maybe theyre TRYING to make us quit so that they can get rid of a class they dont know what to do with. Anyway, whatever the reason is, its not good enough for me to be used as an excuse for not fixing a class that was broken from the start. Also, from what (whichever dev it was) recently said, "enchanters situation is being looked at" or however it was actually put....that could mean anything from making us uber again to making us a plain wizard that just uses dots. And not to mention, they said that they were looking at us about a whole year ago, and look at what happened. I, personally, dont give a flying f**k if were being looked at - i wanna know if were being FIXED. And if they really think that after their history of neglegence (spelling?) to our class that one comment like that, without any other sign of "good will", is gonna make me wait longer for them, I consider that an insult. Its like a lawyer trying to convince a client to hire him when he has 60 losses on his record and not even one win. It just doesnt work. Second, its the whole direction the game is going. Everything is dumbed down to the point that I can safely say that even Mario Kart takes more skill to play. Raids are too simple....get a tank, a couple healers, a couple DPS, and go kill. If theres an AoE, either dodge it or cure it. [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] kind of raiding is this. The whole idea is just to get the people in the raid buffed as much a possible, and the mob debuffed as much as possible, and then u got a pretty guaranteed win. Sony's idea of a hard mob is one that hits hard and requires more healers and/or a better tank. Why arent the hard raids those which require more/better chanters...or more/better wizzies....or something. But then again, why raid if all the masters and the fabled gear we need is gonna drop off heroics in DoF anyway? Its not for the fun, cuz all it takes to win are buffs and gear...and its not for loot cuz good enough loot can be found anywhere else. So id love to know what Sony thinks people raid for. So basically the way i see it is....if im playing a class thats not fun to play, being insulted by the devs for doing so, and doing something that has no purpose, then im better off not playing at all. And there aint nuthin in the world that can convince me that its worth paying $xx a month to keep doing this so i can wait and see whats gonna happen. Maybe ill check these boards once in a while to see if anything changed, but thats about the most effort i can put into the whole "waiting" thing at this point. Now im not trying to start a whole flame war here about if im right or wrong.....and if the post gets locked up cuz of what i said about the game designers and company executives (devs i know it wasnt u) then so be it. Just wanted to put down my 2 cents. Best of luck to you all. I seriously hope that things get better here soon, I know im not the only one that doesnt like whats been happening.. And well, if things dont, ill just see yall in Vanguard nxt year :smileyvery-happy:
P.S.: Kailen it was good playing the game with u, and I'm sorry I aint gonna be there no more. Maybe u can convince Irik or someone to just stay active on their illu instead of their twink....at least most of the the non-botted 60 illus on the server are frequent raiders, who dont all share this point of view. So at least that should keep them going just a bit longer =) Best of luck to u K. Message Edited by DaMutation on 12-03-2005 09:41 AM

![]() I know just how you feel DaMutation. I also quit a couple of weeks ago for just those reasons. I notice a few more 'does this game have a long-term vision' type posts on these forums, I look at the god-awful mess up SOE made of SWG and can only feel sad that the game and character I loved for a year has gone down the tubes (imho, of course). I hope for the rest of you who tough it out that they get it right and you continue to have fun; I just wasn't anymore. I remember someone (I think it might have been Claudiusthegod) speculating that the Devs didn't want proper crowd control in the game as it made it too hard to balance. I've now lost faith that they will ever sort us out and think he was right. Good luck guys, keep fighting the good fight. :smileyhappy:

![]() I have very similiar feelings Damutation. I have a 60th level Illusionist on Unrest and the game simply isnt fun for me anymore. I was having a blast immediately after the combat revamp, but after all the changes they have made since then...not any more. For most people when they hit 60 its all about raiding, it helps keep them busy until the next expansion or adventure pack. However why bother these days. There is no creativitiy, strategy, or diversity involved with raiding. They have turned it into a purely DPS fight. For me that isnt much fun. In addition there is the concern over the drops. Why bother if you can find the same or better elsewhere in the game. I really love my illusionist and have poored so much time and love into her. But when I feel like a completely useless addition to a raid, well really what is the point? If I had picked a class like a wizard or some other DPS or a healer class then raiding would be a little better because I would be using my class defining skills to help overcome the encounter. However I either cant use my class defining skills, some of my skills are not needed to solve problems (mez, CC), or my mana regen buff is not as widely sought as their are other non-enchanter classes that can do the same thing.
In the end it is probably a blessing for me as I can spend more time on RL stuff... .things that really matter. After playing EQ1 and being dissapointed for various reasons (had fun with it but in the end was disappointed) and now with my EQ2 experience I can truely say I will never play another SOE game again no matter how pretty the graphics look. |

![]() <3 For Many. Thank you for everything you've helped me learn about this game. I will miss you very much, and so will Shaydsa. I guess you can be my chanter coach through msn. :smileyhappy: since i think I got the Ranger thing down already. I've really enjoyed being guilded with you, and you have always been a great voice on our raids and an awesome teacher to those that need the help. At least I know we will play and learn together again on the next game to come along. Peace out and I'll see you soon.
