Ice Flame?

While shopping for spell upgrades last night, I noticed a Master Spell Ice Flame (Sorcerer lvl 35) for sale that I could, apparently, use. I checked my spell book, as I never remembered receiving that spell and sure enough I did not. Do we still get this spell? And if so, is it only available by purchase?

Its a Splitpaw spell, if you buy it you will be able to scribe it, and you will use it into your 50's.

It was from the Vamp expansion

Ice flame is a totally rad spell. I use it at 54 still, at adept III (which I highly, highly recomend) it does 408 damage 2x for a total of 816 damage every single time you cast it and slows target by 54% for something like 124 power. Have your friendly local sage make you a copy becasue it rules!

Also, it is from the bloodline chronicals (the vamp expansion)

Woops my bad, it was from the vamp expansion, but you dont need it to acribe the spell. IT is a great spell btw.

What he means is you do not auto-learn this spell at 35. You need to have it crafted for you or buy it off the broker and then scribe it like your 51+ skills. It is a great spell, in exp groups it gets up to about 450x2 (it hits the mob twice), and in raids I have seen it go as high as ~600 x 2....one of my favorite spells from the damage to animation.

i have this adept 3 and at level 54 i have seen it do 700+ in a raid group but my int was almost 500 then

I THINK it can be resisted now, ever since one of the more recent updates. But still, without a doubt a very nice spell to have. I have it at Adept III and use it all the time.

i have never seen an all out resist of the total spell only one of the bolts got resisted of the 2 ever for me

greatest thing about this spell is that it does the exact amount of damage from what it says on the spell description. It doesn't have a +/-. So if its 4xx dmg on your spell.. it will 2 x 4xx. SMILEY

You can indeed get fully resisted on this spell now, especially to yellow con and higher.

Nevertheless, I will look for the spell, I guess. But I doubt I will pay that for the stats on that Adept 3. I still need to buy a horse.....lol. Well, I am glad I checked in on this thread, because I would likely have bought that faux-master and been very disappointed.

The spell rocks even at lvl 52. It's an awesome solo spell because of it's quick cast time. When you need to apply that last bit of dmg to finish something off, the spell is perfect. I would love a master i version of it.

Short answer: yes.

Long answer: I think it was just dropped in the Bloodline Chronicles zones (D'Morte Burial Chamber), rather than quested.

As a side note, the skills in Splitpaw do not have scribed levels, you can not upgrade them...and FOR THE LAST TIME ICE FLAME IS FROM D'MORTE CHRONICLES NOT SPLITPAW! >_<

Ice Flame is really a "must have" spell as soon as you hit 35. I'm still casting it in almost every fight at 51, and the damage keeps increasing as I level. Definitely worth the rare to upgrade to Adept 3. Gives us one more option for those poison immune mobs--and the graphic is pretty cool.
