![]() Actually not. I cannot speak for 30+ soloing, as I'm a 28 warlock, but once I got it figured out I have been able to solo quite well. Mind you, we're fragile, and at the first sign of trouble. . .like frozen manacles gets broken or Freeze gets resisted and the mob is on top of me beating me up . . . I high-tail it out of there at top speed and don't look back. With that basic and simple philosophy, I have been able to solo yellow individual mobs and green heroic mobs, sometimes blue heroic pretty well and I haven't died in quite a while. ANd often times I've killed the mobs so fast they don't even have a chance to take a swing....that's the beauty of warlocks. Then again it just depends on the mobs. For example, me soloing at 28 a single lev 30 Rumbleroot is a piece of cake. DD then Freeze then Frozen Manacles, then move back a few paces, yawn, cast Curse of Darkness or Steal Breath to lower poison mitigation and DD once again. By then they're usually very dead. On the other hand, groups of 3 or more will be much harder since you can't root them all, whereas a fighter with good mitigation would be relatively less problems. All told, warlocks to me are a success. They group well, solo well (as long as you're sensible and don't try to take on white heroic mobs or some such), they have excellent strong points and enough weakness to make them playable, interesting, and not Uber. Warlocks most definitely do significantly more damage than a conjuror with pet, but pets make good tanks, and that's advantage. |

I expect to die - a lot - some times mobs just get big lucky hits or resists at really bad times You can of course play it safe and reduce the risk of the unpredicatble - for example pulling with FM instead of NilD. You can probably eliminate any risk to you by playing it really safe. Though I find this often increases the time it takes you to achieve your goal. In this game Time is the currency, gold just represents it. I think its healthy to save time and have a bit of a mendor bill.

![]() If you choose solo mobs...I can't imagine ever dying. Now if you choose heroic mobs, that is another story. Personally I hardly ever solo, but when I do...I solo green heroics. They yield a lot of xp, and aren't too difficult to pull off; they're just difficult enough for each fight to be a challenge (this is at 42, mind you.) Since my 20s, I've always either duo'd with a fellow necro, or sent one /lfg a /tell to invite him. We can pull off yellow or orange heroics with no sweat, nonstop -- even when they come in groups of 4. It's waaaaay better xp than solo'ing or in a group. But, hey, maybe in a few levels their pets won't be able to live for the 20secs I need them to tank and I'll have to start duo'ing with wizards? Who knows. But warlocks can solo well. Stuns, roots and nuking hard and fast are the tools you have. Just be ready to /yell and run if you get resists on stuns or roots or you will die and people will see it, and laugh. |

![]() If you are talking about soloing harder mobs, it would be like this: Die - sometimes Run and live - most of the time

![]() I'm now 42 and I have soloed 99% of my life as a warlock and yes I have died but for the most part once you learn how to play a Warlock you should never die. I know when to run and when to stay and fight :smileyhappy: As for doing more damage than a Conjurer and his pet I can't say but I can tell you most yellow mobs die in 3 casts after I debuff them, Nil Distortion 1800+, BSS 800+, and Ice Flame 600+ if they are still alive after this I hit it with Noxious Bolt. Right now I'm in Splitpaw and have no problem taking down groups of 4 or more. I have to run sometimes but it's easy once you figure out which ones are the casters and take them out first. I die fairly often, but i tend to take chances to see what i can take, alot of times it doesnt work out hehe. But it is fun trying. The death penalties in this game arent bad, so i rarely get upset when i die, unless i lose to a mob ive killed 500 times and they get lucky.

![]() I've found the best solo XP is from blue-yellow single mobs where their is a non stop flow of them, preferably in a non-aggro area. A good example is the spider cave (tunnel) in EF. It's about fast kills, with smaller xp vs large xp that takes a longer time, and results in debt... IMO. Once you get ND at 37, this works really well. 2-3 shot anything. Get good drink, and your'll get 10% per hour. |

I rarely died prior to 40, & I only die alot more now because I get to cocky & try to solo things 5 levels above me heroic & get my FM resisted right when my BG is wearing off, which, is not a bad thing, it makes me stubborn, try some more, die some more, then just give up & go solo normal stuff & group. LOL Not too bad though, if you know how to play your class & when to run, you won't die often. (Training at 40, choose the stun! Lifesaver!)

![]() At 44 soloing for me goes about like this (not counting piles of adds, triggered traps, pops of named on top of your campsite, and other weird events) solo green-blue-white - never die, never run - RP

Yes warlocks should do more damage the eth conjurer and his pet when soloing, and expect to die if you want to solo for good exp. I can solo, solo mobs all day without any fear of death but when you start hitting ^^ of your level or grater, they will kill you once in a while. But the exp moves quite fast even with the odd death.
