So I was at work today and hopped on my guild's forum page and noticed one of my guildmates posted that they released LU27.  Being so excited because the test updates said they're giving sorcerers a raid castable anti-hate buff, I just had to see how much.  So, I VNC'ed into my machine from work and hopped in-game.  I examined my anolism spell cuz thats the accord line, which i have at Adept3.  And what do I see, 2% anti-hate.  I just about creamed my pants.  I mean 2% thats huge, do you realize that with 2% anti-hate, I may actually be able to cast fiery convulsions without getting aggro or maybe even a massage huge damage nuke like sunstrike or irradiate.  And, because of this 2% anti-hate, I no longer have the need to have a guardian and troubador in my group and a dirge in the main tank group.  I'm going to talk to my guild leader tonight and plant the seed in his head that we dont need those classes anymore and we can just go outright wiz/warlock DPS.  Average stack of healers, a few fighters for tanking and tons and tons of wizards and warlocks... because since we can put that huge 2% anti-hate onto the tank, we can go ape [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] DPS!!!  I'm so excited!
 
 
 
When will SOE start regonizing the importance of giving sorcerers a real non-dependant-on-other-classes anti-hate buff.  Of all the mage classes, sorcerers are the most unprotected classes.  You might say, because you can go big boom... well so what, summoners are still right up there with me on DPS and they dont die often because they have this nifty thing called shared hate with their pet.  Oh and the cool thing they can do, say in a long raid battle, they build up a huge load of hate and then click that nifty gray skull button that kills their pet... instant 50-60% reduction in hate battle wide.  Sure, they have to wait few seconds to recast their pet,and buff it but its a easy get-out-death-sentence card... and their pet comes back with 100% health/mana.  Lets see SOE change it so all hate goes to the caster and like my dump pets and see how long pet mages last before there is an uprising and they really develop an anti-hate buff for all mage classes.  Unless I'm in that ideal situation of troub/guard my grp, dirge in MT grp, I spend more time "protecting" myself with concussion and cease and slow casting, that there is no way in hell I can DPS at the same rate as a summoner without dying!  Or if SOE hates sorcerers so much, give like a 20,000 point taunt to guardians and berzerkers with a 5 second recast.  That'll help...
 
Well on the bright side, its 2% i didnt have before and since they reduced the repair costs of fabled, atleast i may die 14 times instead of 15 times but i'll save some gold in the process.

So far i like it, i've noticed enough of a difference that i think its worth it. Yes, its only 3% at m1....but its better than nothing 105 hate transfer off of a BoL, 450 off a nova. Yes, it could be more, but if we can stay alive and do decent dps as it is now, what if we had 10% hate transfer, we'd live forever.

 

This way theres still some group setup involved to keep a wizzy alive, and hey...it works, but thats just me. *shrugs*

You mean like the other "T1/T2" dps classes who only die on raids when the party wipes? Trust me, there are many other dps classes, including supposed T2 dps classes who can transfer/shrug off far, far more hate than 3%. And doing "decent" dps is not enough. I traded every single bit of armor and utility back in November 2004 in order to be one of the premier dps classes. Now I see myself being outdamaged by rogues who are the best debuffers in the game and also enjoy Ae immunities. /boggle

Why should sorcerors depend upon any other class for their dps? Why do we have to be the lone reason to invite troubadors, paladins, etc. to raids. I'm personally beginning to believe they're leaving our aggro-control gimped in order to rationalize having more classes on raids. As someone said, in order to be "safe," a sorceror needs a troubador's Serenade, Amends, Harmonious Link, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum.

You know what an assassin needs? To be in a group with a fighter to whom s/he can transfer a substantial portion of their hate. For the other classes, it's even easier. Having permanent passive debuffs in excess of 20%. So yeah, 3% is definitely just a drop in the barrell and does nt go far at all in appeasing the sorceror community.


Don't let the developers get it in their heads that this change is ok as it is. I raided Vyemm's and Lyceum last night and I can assuredly tell you that things are still not "OK." In addition to hate issues, developers need to address:

a) Our casting times: huge in comparison with scouts 1/2 second CA's. We have little hope on 30 second fights to keep up with scouts.

b) Our range in spell damage is ridiculuous: the low end of my master nukes do less damage than their previous version's ceiling.

c) Our hate: throw us a bone. All other T1 dps classes get massive deaggro capabilities and ours is negligible. Even conjurors, who've supposedly been fixed (If you can call still being able to do 6k Ae dmg "fixed") split their hate right down the middle with their pets. This is an obvious imbalance. It would be like me saying to the mob, "Hey, I didn't just do that damage to you. My nuke did." For all intents and purposes, summoner pets serve as their nukes, yet either summoner class can out-dps sorcerors without fear of repercussions everytime they do.

yah totally agree with the OP and Kai here, this is just silly, only thing good to come out of this 3% BS is the fact that i feel justified in getting my post count up complaining about this....

more posts on the forum > 3% agro transfer

make it 7% and stack with warlocks, that would be plenty for me

14% hate transfer from a wizard + warlock, thats HALF what other classes can do, but its cross raid so i can accept that, but i think with 7% maybe we would notice a difference on aoe fights
