Hiya, I'm a 32 froglok wizard and when I try to use my fun spell, alkabors flaming visage, I get a message that I change form, but I see no graphical change at all. Is there a graphics setting i may not be aware of? Could this be that the graphice of this spell are not complete for frogs?

What are your graphics settings?

Have you tried zooming to 3rd person and looking at yourself?

Have you asked anyone around you to look at you and tell you if you're on fire or not?

Try typing /hide

See if that works, if not, then I'm not sure SMILEY

What angel do you view yourself at?  For numerous levels the part of me that turned fiery/icy was my horses tail, unless I was invis.  Once invis, I looked like I should.  Then once I hit page down to get a better view at something, and suddenly it worked right.  So now I play at a slightly lower angel then before, I can see it fine.

Distance of zoom doesn't effect mine - just the angel.  Lower - I can see it.

Thank you for your responses. Looked at myself from all angles at all zoom levels a hundred times since i got the spell 2 levels ago, thats why I asked here. I guess my real question is, does there exist some kind of setting which would influence the visibility of this spell? I tried /hide to no avail. I understand that this spell serves no real function, but what do you want from me, I'm just a dumb frog.

I'm not completely sure, but I think typing just "/hide" won't work. I think you need to type at least "/hide_i" to turn your illusions back on. That could be your problem..

typing "/hide illusion" turns my illusions on and off. If I want the effect of SoW potions - but don't want to run around as a wolf I use "/hide illusion" to turn off my illusion - then even though I've "changed form" so to speak - I (and others) don't see the illusion. The SoW buff stays in place. When I want to use my nifty new SplitPaw gnoll illusion shard - and run around Antonica terrorizing newbs as a Named Gnoll on a Killing Rampage - I have to remember to "/hide illusion" again - or I (and others) won't see the changed form. And then I'll look SILLY. My guess is that you've typed "/hide illusion" at some point - and now aren't seeing the form change. Simply retyping "/hide illusion" should allow you to see yourself in flames. Interesting Illusion Asides: The minute you get your "Encased in Ice" illusion funspell - cast it on  yourself and then immediately get on a griffin and watch what happens. LOL. My personal favorite: For those wizards still running around in a dress - obtain a Petrified Orc Eye - and cast it on yourself as a robe wearing mage. Apparently there are no robe models for orcs so the models come up nekkid. You can then run around as a Big Naked Flaming Orc. SMILEY -GB-

Geez, this is the Wizard forums isn't it?  Flaming Visage isn't an illusion spell, it doesn't change your character model, so /hide_illusions won't effect it.

Flaming Visage adds a fire particle effect to you.  Look for Particle Effects (or something like that, I'm not at home) in the Options, these determine the quality, size, and visibility of particles.  Play around with those sliders until you can see them.

Thanks for your suggestions, you guys. I have discovered the solution. In order to see this spell, you need to check "enable bloom effect" in the graphics options. I didn't have it checked, and neither did any of the people I was hanging out with. Frog power!
