Update 9 says they fixed ring of cold.

My observation is that suddenly it looked like the dot was removed.  I am thinking, "Alright! WOOHOO!" then I notice something.  My truss keeps breaking.  That is it reverts to tether a lot.  I also noticed that my frozen manicles sticks and stays better.  Then I notice that the dot damage for ROC is working in the chat window.  So the icon for the dot is gone so I cannot cancel it but the damage is still there to mess up my truss!  How is this fixed.

So, I am confused.  If I had my way, ROC would not have a dot.  I was getting good at timing my truss cast so it coincided with the end of the roc dot.  I also found I could cast FM, then Truss, then FM again with about 85% chance both would not break at same time before ROC could be cast again.  This I found more effective than trying to cancel ROC dot then casting others.  Maybe, I just need to practice more and move the roots to a better hot key.

i never had an icon for the DOT part of RoC. when it broke the icon just disappeared and the DOT ticked away.

LU9 sadly didn't fix the icon issue and you'll still have to skillfully cancel the RoC once Truss hits to avoid the DoT to tick, the good news tho is that they fixed the snare effect at the end of it. So now instead of actually speeding up the mob (well at least not snaring it), it actually slows him by close to 40%, for what it seems to be the duration of the DoT. So basically you can cast RoC, dot dot nuke nuke dot dot, kite it around while Dotted, cast paralyse, RoC, and finish the job. Quite a nice change of pace and much more exciting than the old RoC, nuke nuke, cancel dots, Truss, cancel RoC, truss truss truss truss, rinse and repeat. I still wished they added that dam icon tho =/, sucks when the root wears off and chanters cry cause it breaks their mezzes.....

I started leaving RoC on isntead of cancerling it because of its dot effect. Ive also noticed that it works on some Epics but not all. Tundra Jack and such. There are a few Epics that it wont work on tho, such some nameds in a larg encounter.

Can anyone tell me what they have noticed in upgreading from adept1 to 3 for this spell?

Ok, on the up side, the snare effect of slowing the mob is great.  I used to get up close an personal with my mobs because I liked using ice flame, which has a short range.  But with the snare effect it is much more effective to stand back.  when ROC releases you have plenty of time to stun, reroot, or just frozen manicles.

I took ROC adept 3 right off the bat but I have noticed with spells I upgraded slower that upgrading reduces resists.  Still at level 50 I find any ^^ mob of level 49+ will resist 25% to 50% of your roots anyway.  Just make sure you leave some mana in reserve for dodging and weaving.  And take a priest for backup.
