Hey there my Wizard just leveled to 38 (love depart by the way) and I noticed that my robe is now blue.  I started looking into a new robe for myself and found there really isnt anything as far as I can see.

There is the mysterious Robe of the invoker but I cant seem to get a straight answer on this one.  Is the quest still dropped.  Where does it drop.  What is the exact name of the quest.

My other question is where can I purchase a good robe.  The broker on my server has nothing.  All the ones that are made by players for my level are awful on the +++'s.  Power is like 17 for the highest.  My current robe is 22 for power.    After that it is a 6 platinum robe that is legiondary.

I dont want to have to purchase a 6 plat robe.  What I would like to do is quest for a new robe (like my armor quest).  But there does not seem to be any quests for robe that I can find.  (I have been to many sites)

Can someone please list out some quests or drop areas for good robes for 38+ wizard.  Would be helpful if a quest is dropped to know exactly what zone these drop in.

Thanks I appreciate all the help

From what I have been told the starter for the Robe of the Invoker still does drop but it is a very long spawn time. It is in the Feerrott. After you go in go right and follow the wall. It is not to far in and it is right by a tree. It is hard to explain. It is actually between the tree roots. There is a lizard camp right near it.

Not sure what robe you are currently using, but a fairly nice robe for the upper 30 casters is the Ebon Eye Robe... I got mine around level 36/37 and it has served me well. I am in need of a new robe though... Not exactly sure what the Ebon Eye is conning to me at level 40... probably green. I was given mine, so no I have no clue how/where you get them Ooja 40th Wizard Lucan

There is a robe from the new expansion that is cheap on my server and has +8 int and decent power. ugly brown but better than Liandrins.

Yeah I use this robe, I like it better than all the other ones for lvl 30's. It is blue for me at 37 tho.

Robe of Invoker.. perhaps the best robe in the game yet. Other than that the rest basically sucks. Yes, they added a new robe for the expansion.. but it's geared toward mid level chars.. so enjoy it while it lasts and hope that it actually protects u in the high end..

Robe of Invoker quest startes still drops.. it's ridiculously rare tho. :smileysad:

JUNK.

Dont waste a rare, nun the less cash, on such a peice of junk robe.  Get a quested one, or one with an item you really want.  Like INT, mana regen, etc.  That will cost you about 60g if you are guessing a figwart is 50g give or take and the tailor takes 10g to combine.  Its not worth it.

Trust me, you want Robe of the Invoker.  Here's the deal (the truth, no myths here):

First of all, make the decision to the following question:  Do I want the best robe in the game?  If so, I need to stop my character's significant advancement for the next 3 levels and ONLY fight solo.

Sure it's not this bad for all but you should basically answer that question before you start farming to get the drop.

Anyways, assuming you answered yes to the above question, your best bet to get the robe is to camp solo mobs in Feerrott for days on end until you get the quest drop.  You're the perfect level to do it too.  Huuptics are probably your best bet.  And don't level too high before you get the drop.  If you can get a group with friends and just XP in Feerrott, then this is okay as almost any mob in the zone will drop the quest starter. I wouldn't try it with a pickup group - everybody will be greedy and try to get the robe.

If you don't want to camp for the robe, then just make frequent trips to Feerrott and camp the tree for the rock spawn while you're /LFG or bored or waiting on somebody.  Whenever you're in Feerrott, always make it a point to run past the tree and check for the rock.  It DOES still spawn but it's uber rare (has gone over 16 hours without spawning).  I got it a week ago and a friend got it yesterday.  But make sure you're lvl40-43 when you're camping the tree otherwise you won't be able to pick up the rock and that would truely suck.

Good luck!!

I thought the quest starter could not be purchased?  Can anyone confirm for certain?

I have a friend on the Neriak server who got the quest drop 2 weeks ago, and I asked him whether it could be sold or was no-trade, and he said it was no-trade.

The only thing I can think is that perhaps he read the quest right away and just assumed it was no-trade.

I have never seen this quest for sale on the exchange, but could imagine whoever gets the drop is simply taking the quest.

I am still surprised by the lack of robe variety in this game. It is so boring to see everyone wearing the same thing.

Who's gonna get a Rollosian gown?  That's master drop stuff.  I'd still prefer Robe of the Invoker over Rallosian gown anyways for the power regen.   There's also sol forged but  that looks ugly, and there's also very little reason to get your int past 250 anyways.  250+ = ~1 power per int.  I'd get items that give higher power, etc. after that.

it is NOT the best robe in the game, I've been lucky enough (very lucky, I admit) to get the beguiler one http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/items/RobeoftheBeguiler.php and it is much better AND so nice (white robe, I allways enjoyed white robes)

At level 36 I went to the feerrott and started killing solo mobs to get starter.  I did a selection of quests that kept me killing solo mobs to grind out this starter.  I am sad to say that I just turned level 41 and I still do not have the starter.  I  have done nothing for 5 levels except kill solo mobs looking for this quest.  I have 10 ivory dice and at least 8 evol bandoliers 4 different books, they dont let you pick books up twice.  a ton of writ style kill 20 lizards quest and still no tattered robe.  I also have a circuit where I wander by the tree every so often and although I have always seen people standing there looking at the tree I have never seen the rock or heard of anyone getting it.  I speak to them every so often just to ask.  At level 38 I started going back to qeynos to get guild writs to do there to give my life more purpose and although out guild has gone up a level since then I still do not have starter.  I have so much time invested in this now I dont want to quit but this is incredibly disheartening.

I have the robe of the beguiler but I am after the invoker robe atm.  On what basis would you say RoB is better than RoI ?  I love RoB but it doesn't have the regen effect.  It does give you a nice agility boost but that's about it.

FYI : The Robe of the Invoker has been changed so that it now regens IN and Out of combat 20 mana a tick.  The Robe does still say 20 mana in combat but it has changed.

And yes it does drop at the tree I got mine there.  waited like 12 hours then took 3 more hours to dinish the quest.  Solo'd it all.

Okay.....The Robe of the Invoker.....I have now found another posting that explains this quest a little better and I have to say I dont have 4-6 days to sit by a tree and wait for a rock to pop.  From what I understand the rock is not always there anymore.  It only pops once every four to six days.  It is uber rare and the drops from the mobs are uber uber rare.  I'm thinking I'm pretty satisfied with my pristine tailored rough linen blouse.  It looks nice and works fine.  I would love the mana regen but really who has 6 days to just sit and stare at a tree base for a rock to pop.

From what the other post said Sony changed it because people were farming the robes.  Basically they were getting the quest over and over again and then selling them to the wholesaler for a profit.  So instead of just making the rock clicky to wizards (or other casters)  or making the robe no-value no-trade they decided to make the drop so uber rare no-one could do the quest.   Thanks to everyone who ruined this robe for the spellcasters!!!

So anyway thanks for the information about a robe I will never be able to have.  Good luck to all of you that have the time to sit and do nothing but stare at your screen for 6 days.

err.. what's soo good about that robe? the 17 agi?.. you'll get hit anyway. You're a wizard. Secondly if u mention the 44? or 56 mana it gives, an extra 14mana isn't ganna help. I have a standing 20mana a tick.. that's more than that Beguiler robe you have. I've also seen The Ancient Rallosian Gown with 18int on it and it's lvl 50 or 52. I'm not entirely accurate, but I sure as hell won't trade this Invoker for any other robe until a new robe with better effect comes out. Int has a soft cap. Once u hit 200int you're pretty much digging for all the power regen or any + power gear you can attain.

Remember Wis and Int don't matter in this game as stamina or agility or strength. You'll see warriors and scouts with 50pts less than you in their strength and agility and you have about 100-200power more than they do?! weird huh? and oh yea, how bout them 13-14khp tanks?.. I haven't seen a caster break 5k mana yet.. I've broken the 4k mana barrier... it's quite an accomplishment.

I seen an enchanter in beguiler robe and yes, it makes a lot of sense for an enchanter to wear one.  But not warlocks or wizzies.

Don't bother with any robe but the Invoker. Best shot - huupic and ewol lizards. Kill lizards while checking rock nearby is a good way. If you are higher level - start camping the rock. It IS in game (I got mine that way after 2 weeks of camping (yes 2 weeks)). In-combat mana-regen is unbeatable. If you are a mage - this robe should be all you focus on. After this -  you can go after the GEB and the other regens. Regens will always be most important, unless the DEVs suddenly start making INT (or WIS for priests) have any use. With INT over 200, start looking for +Power items. INT will give very little Power over 200. Better go for total Power (power+intpower) and protections.

I know I bought a stupid robe but at least I have something that helps somewhat. I found figwart and a luminous flower and I had a pristine lambent imbued linen blouse.

It says it gives 34 health every 4 sec. I have been using manastone and my health to mana conversion spells and I am almost never out of power.

What do you think about that?  I know Invoker Robe is incredible and so is beguiler and rallosian but I never found any of them so I made this...it is better than twice stitched constructors vest at least right?
