what spells to get in Adept 3

I am a lv 38 wizard and have NO adept 3 spells yet. I have app4 or adept 1 in all my spells. I have 2 rough opal T2, and 2 rough Jasper T3. What spells would I gave the most long term benefit of upgrading to Adept 3, if any.

Background/playstyle : I never hunt solo, always with a lv 38 paladin and a lv 38 templar, sometimes with others but always with those 2 at least.

To start with - Ball of Flames.

Being that rough opal is T4 spells, not T2, I'd definitely agree that you need to upgrade ball of flames. I don't know much about the other level 30-40 spells. For T3, I'd probably recommend ball of fire and blazing intimidation (though I haven't gotten my level 28 or 29 spells yet).

Upgrade immolation(lvl 39) Ball of flames only does 700 dmg while immolation does 1700, I don't know what these other guys are smoking, but I'll pay 'em 15 bucks a G for it.

this is what ive got: T2: frozen manacles, ice spike T3: ball of fire (although westfend's over takes it at your lvl) and icy coil T4: planning on getting ball of flames and immolation

Although they are both great spells I prefer BoFl over immolation. You can cast BoF 3 times for every immolation, and immolation is a dot so doesnt stack with another wizard. So you should get them both SMILEY

As T3 spell i'd get Icy coil, and maybe ball of fire.

For 2 rough opals: (T4):

-Immolation (will be used at 50)

-Ball of Flames (will be used at 50)

For 2 rough jaspers: (T3):

-Icy Coil (will be main debuff until 40, it stacks with it's upgrade Piercing Icicles)

*-Blazing Intimidation (since it's upgrade 44, Paralyze has unbelievably crap dmg/long casts, it'll be used until target is too powerful in mid/late 40s)

*If you did not choose Westfends Ice Spear for level 30 training, choose Ball of Fire instead of Blazing Intimidation for adept III upgrade.

All of these suggestions are for group play and maximizing dps.

Icy coil no longer stacks with piercing icicles. These spells now overwright each other.

I'd throw in Intromission, as this will be your main mana battery spell all the way to 50. It doesn't stun you, and doens't have a terribly long recast.

Actually Essence Intromission is your *non-stun* mana spell at 50.

Also, whoever said that Immolation isn't worth upgrading to Adept III was insanely wrong. The DPS of Immolation at the Adept III level is quite good, and the damage per mana is tremendously better. BoFL has a terrible damage per mana ratio compared to a spell like Immolation.

I actually have Master I Immolation and it's one of my favorite spells to use, especially during raids, since the damage is spread out it draws less aggro all at one time.

The most adept3's i have are in T4 and T5. And thats about two in each. Maybe one in the other Teirs.

having a similar problem...... have 2 T5 rares. ice comet is a no brainer. what to do with the second. down to either vital flow, essential intromission, or vitalic harvest. this Ceeam guy seems smart i wonder if he has nice boots

I have all of those and if you only want 1 more you should get vital flow.

Vital flow for sure... I am pretty much out of decent spells to upgrade but with my most recent ruby I upgraded Essential Intromission from app4 to adept3. Guess what, it gives 20 more mana (omg really?!? THAT'S SO MUCH). That's right, 20 more mana. Geez what a joke. I was thoroughlly upset.

Vitalic Harvest isn't that good of a spell to begin with. The stun time is insanely long now. I tend to use a Vital Flow -> Painful Meditation -> Manastone chain and just let a healer in my group heal me during raids so I can keep the damage flowing... and the manapumps flowing. The stun is SO long on Vitalic Harvest that it prevents you from doing anything else productive (including pumping mana if you must).

And I've got Adept 1 of that spell - I can't imagine that Adept 3 would make a big enough difference in the stun time to make it worth it to cast this spell on a regular basis.
