View Full Version : Paladin AA Line
<DIV>Hey,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I am kinda new to AA, I never really understood the purpose of it and the gains etc. of what the AA can do for you.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I hear alot of people saying 4-4-8 this and 4-4-8 that, what does this mean? I figured it meant 4 in the first row, 4 in second, 8 in third? what about the fourth row?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyways, I am trying to find a nice line for my pally because I am horrible atm, I am in full mastercrafted level 54, acouple adepts and appIV I use a shield and a 1h sword. I need some more dps because at the moment I am horrible in pvp and I just "outlast" if I try and solo mobs, not really dealing much damage at all and waiting about 2 minutes to kill 1 guy my same level in SS.</DIV>

<DIV>Look at the thread called: New to Paladin - kinda frustrating. That may have some good info for you. btw its Mauf =]</DIV>
<P>Keep earning your AA's, almost all of Paladin AA lines are good and really help the class. INT line, Wraths line etc etc really make a difference....you can't enjoy pally much unitl you get 30 or so AA and it only gets better from there.</P>
<DIV>I have enough AA's (about to get 39) but I just dont know what to do with them =/</DIV>

<P>Im going to go Int/Str, some people have suggested Wis but I want to hit hard and take a beating, more dmg less time "outlasting" mobs. Then there's my pwr issue =[ Across the top of my AA its 4-2-2-2-1 then one down on the Str aa column where you get the axe ability.</P> <P> </P> <P>Now if Int, in AA, gives you the ability to do more dmg does it also allow for larger amount to heal hp's? I've noticed since this last patch I've lost the ability to heal larger amounts of hp's.</P> <P>Please understand im not technically savvy to the game lingo.</P>

<DIV>If you want to max dps then this is what I would suggest.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Int line - put 8 points into spell crits</DIV> <DIV>Sta line - put 8 points into melee crits</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I also maxed hp so something to consider in sta line</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Paladin line</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Wrath line - Max out your aoe's, get smite evil</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Depending on your goals you may choose a different line but I went hero to improve tanking. (Also another HP boost in this hero line)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>With the remander I went 3 points into fervent aid and 5 points into devotion for quicker recast on ward. (Switched from group armament)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>In terms of fighting, I would suggest always going into offensive stance and 2H sword. You will kill much quicker this way. Use your wards to your advantage and knockbacks. Set up hot bars or keys to switch out weps and shield on the fly if you need to go defensive etc...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<p>More damage less time is a valid idea if you plan to solo, or perhaps duo with a healer.</p><p> Anything else, and even at the best your dps will be modest compare to a true damage dealer--rogue, monk, wizard, etc.</p><p> If you plan to tank go the str line. Either way this works well for you, but one of the abilities adds a boost to your hate. Another of them adds a boost to your haste, admittedly your meelee dps is modest but it is still something.</p><p>You have to be real about who and what you are. You are not dps--you never will be serious dps. If you want to be serious dps who can also take some hits, roll a monk/bruiser. What you are is a very solid tank--sometimes even at raid level who can keep himself and his group alive. You are a ultility tank, and your utility is healing--so you won't even out dps a shadowknight whose utility is extra damage. However, I cannot recall when the last time I had an SK in my group who tanked over me. You are a good offtank due to your rescue abilities--those are times when you will want to be doing max damage. The question is, will you always off tank (generally you will only offtank off another paladin or a guardian) or will you sometimes tank--if you will tank often, max your tanking lines.</p>
I know I use DPS more as a means to help hold agro than to consider myself a DPSer. The more damage I do, the more hate I generate, the easier it is to hold agro from a crazy dpser who doesn't have amends on them <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
