<DIV>Hi all</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I just returned to EQ2 after a nearly two-year break. I've joined some hardcore RP friends on AB, so I thought I'd create a character I really want to RP and which I can visualize being the one I want to RP. The answer...A Paladin with a big two handed weapon.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Last time I played EQ2, which was may ´05, Paladins weren't really very effective with twohanded weapons. They probably still aren't, but if some of you hardcore paladins out there know a good build with twohanders (after all the AA-stuff have been implemented) i'd appreaciate it a lot!</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

i know you wanna be RP, but it depends wether or not you want to be a tank or a dps. As a dps I suggest going a 2h axe, with the STR KoS aa line for the axe buff/attack. If your gonna tank it's probably against RP but go for a 1h axe and a tower shield--depends what your role is gonna be

<div align="left">One great thing about the new Achievement System is you can choose achievements to match your perfect RP image, although most people are only interested in Tanking or DPS.To me a paladin or an SK for that matter, both Joust. Well now, the agility AS path grants benefits for fighting on horseback and using polearms, like halberds. I love the AGI line and it works even better with a good 2h great spear, but you could also use a 1h spear as well. If sword and shield are your favorite image, then you can mix the Wis and STA lines. Achievements are cool because they add to your character, they don't take away. Granted, there are achievements that are better from the perspective of DPS and whatnot. But from the perspective of roleplay, some of these lines just don't work as well. And if you max out a line, then the differences while parsable, aren't such a big deal. You might not be as powerful, but you will still be powerful.</div><div></div>

Pallies to fairly good with a 2 hander down the int line for spell crits. If you want to keep your DPS up, get has much +to DPS as possible (over +haste) that way you arent wasting as many attacks while casting your spells.<div></div>

<DIV>what i did was i specced so i can tank a little and dps. I went down str and int line, and i use a 1h axe. What i do is i made a hotkey on my spell bars, 1 slot for my shield, 1 for my symbol so i can switch between the 2 fast and pop off my symbol attack (hitting for upwards of 1.5k). Or if u leet like me and got 2 dolls...*caugh*...u can just keep ur doll out all the time. Personally when dpsing i put symbol from 3p with 15 dps mod on it in offhand, and symbol of the tactician with 7 haste on my range, and have the +45 divine damage adornment in that symbol. Im going to get that same adornment for my symbol in offhand to see if they stack....+90 divine damage would be kinda nifty</DIV>
