Hello all, just started playing a paladin a couple days ago and I'm about to hit lvl18. I haven't spent any of the AA's I've earned so far (8 atm) because I'm not sure which path would be most helpful while leveling up. Most of the discussion I've seen here have been from the lvl70 perspective, and so what people decide to use at that level might not be what they used while getting up there. =)Should I just use the AA's in the Paladin tree and wait til much later on to place points into the Crusader line? Is the +Crit chance given by the INT line in the Crusader tree a passive buff, that is, will I need to use a Symbol in order to have that +Crit apply?<div></div>

<DIV>Well, I have been going down INT and have 4-4-8-7 so far (26 Paladin). I should hit 25 AA's by tonight. I have had a far easier time killing mobs/players and healing myself this way. It has been working for me very well. I plan to go down the WIS line next.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edit: No, you don't need a symbol for crits. You only need it for the spell you get, but the spell is not worth it IMO.</DIV> <P> <P> </P><p>Message Edited by Atheros01 on <span class=date_text>12-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:42 AM</span>

<DIV>The spell actually isnt too horrible when you count in crits.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>What I do is I have my hotbar set up as:</DIV> <DIV>Judgement, Symbol Item, Legionairre, Shield (or 2hander depending on what Im doing)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Then I just go through those hotkeys one after another. You only need your Symbol in hand to START casting Legionaire. Since you can swap items every 2 seconds or so, its a very minor timeframe which your shield isnt out.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Granted, Judgement and Legionaire are pretty much our two worst attacks. If you have a fast weapon, odds are they arent worth casting.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>W</DIV>

<DIV>As for me, I have four achievements points in stamina, four achievement points in the first wisdom line, and four in the second line. I'm planning to put eight into the third spell, which is an until canceled buff that raises slashing, crushing, ministration, subjugation, and something else by alot. In the pally line, I have completed the hero line completely and recieved blocking mastery. These spells have helped me be able to solo lvl 67 mobs as a lvl 60th paladin without healing. It's your choice though.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Mordock of the Highwynd on <span class=date_text>12-28-2006</span> <span class=time_text>06:41 PM</span>

Well, I put all 8 (now 10) points into the INT line, and it has helped, so I do not have any regets. Having lots of fun being a mini-AE machine, and having a 17% crit chance now is great since I cast so much. Judgement to pull a group, thit them with Blinding Rays, then use Cry of Conviction (master 2) and Divine Circle. That typically hurts mobs a lot, makes it easy to finish them off with the melee attacks. =)<div></div>

personally i'd skip the Crusader lines to start with and go straight to the Paladin lines, go down wrath, max the first 4 skills out and take smite evil, should be very handy at the low level you'll get it at, then i'd probably think about going down the int line 4/4/8 for spell crits, after that the world's your oyster, thats already 37 AA points so by then you should know what you are looking for.<div></div>
