What is a good dps for a 70 pally? What are the best tricks for maximizing pally dps? spark? adornments for reactive damage? the new AA wrath line?

What kind of situation are you talking about? Epic content? Regular solo and heroic stuff? What lvl mobs? Group encounters or singles? Are you in a group or solo? What stance? Are you MT'ing (if in a group)?Knowing that might help to pin down a range for 'decent' DPS. ~Hawke

Message Edited by Wulfborne on 12-07-2006 06:12 PM

Was thinking solo with offensive stance with single or multiple targets. Also interested in other situations. Thanks.

i think pallies shine in AOE vs multiple enemies.Thats where i get highest DPS in Raids, well worth over 1k dps.max out your wrath line for increased DPS on that.I am currently at 25 AA points in the paladin tree, so i didnt really max out all wrath abilities yet.vs single target Pallies still can outdps most fighters, only who can come close is SK i think.but that depends on individual character setup.i went for INT and STA on crusader tree and also try to get as much STR gear as i can get.most pallies i know go for the WIS path though, increasing resists.(which IMO is not worth it, since you can get nice resist gears, but it all depends on each individual playstyle)consecrate is definetly the best, followed by relentless convistion when it comes to AOE damage, if you maxed your Spell crits in the INT crusader tree you will likely get only crit hits. (also great for aggro control in groups!)great weapon to get is cludgel of pain (even nerfed it still rocks) and a good shield. for adorments i use some damage stuff and INT increase for ears, plus parry and AGI increases to keep my tanking abaility to par.works out quite well so far.

Thanks. I also have followed Stam and Int lines, and have adornments to increase spell and divine damage. I have Marr cloak, but have planar axe rather than cudgel. don't recall where cudgel drops.

In a solo encounter using all of my aoe and non-aoes, I am usually around 800 something dps. With multiple mobs, it starts well higher than 800 due to aoes, then falls off after about 25 secs as i wait for recasts.

I've experimented with Spark and it has some negligible effect on dps.

Thanks for the advice.

A word on AoEIf you are tanking best to losoe them all near the beginning of combat, if you arn't tanking thoguh best to spread them out.. interspced with single target attacks as you are likely to pull agro away from the MT especially if you are syphoning agro from a high dpser. In long fights it won't make a bit of difference to your dps but it'lll help the MT keep agro better.Actually that way you don't tend to wait on recast timers so much... which is why I thougth of it.

Message Edited by boli on 12-08-2006 01:40 PM

wow, 990 Str and 600 int? I guess I've been sticking with the defensive gear too much. str 640, int around 385 with potion. maybe that's why my dps needs work. with offensive stance, my avoidance is just over 40, and my mit is over 60. maybe i need a couple more sets of armor etc.

What type of DPS are you looking for? You mentioned hitting 800 vs single targets. Honestly, that's not that bad at all.

At my absolute best, against lvl 66-67 mobs all with one arrow up, multiple encounters I hit 1600 DPS on the beta server while solo. So many things have changed since then on the live servers, I don't think I could come close now.

~Hawke

I do enough damage. I'm not a barn burner, but my job is to outlast the opponent not one shot him and that is the way I approach a fight. Yah, I may not be as efficient at killing as some, but survival is very important to me

Do you have DPS /haste buffs from group? If possible, as an OT you should be able to get a dps buff of some kind. Inquisitor, brawler, et cetera. If you can get a dirge or troubador that will also help. Last for adornments you should get 2 +10dps neck items (DT bracelet, MOTA).
