topic really says it all. i dont tank raids with the paladin much ever and i have a monk and warlock on the way up, so i am setting my char up around grouping as both MT and DPS role. right now i have 4 points in every skill on str line and the 10% decrease end skill, 6 in STA line for hammer ground ap2 (god i love that skill), and points into int line for 4474 for spell crits and heal crits. i was doing some parces on my usage of a 2h weapon and 1h/symbol with the paladin AP setup that way and was having a hard time deciding if i should use a 1h axe or 2h axe for DPS mode. i currently use the axe dropped off the butcher in PoA as my 1h weapon and have little if any idea of where i could get a legendary ranked 2h axe other than the medocre looking axe of slashing claw, and ih avent seen any 2h for sale on broker in fabled. what i need to know is, does using a 2h axe still do more DMG over a 1h, and if there is a point where the scaling form treasured to mastercrafted to legendary and so on at which i should swap from 1h to 2h to do more over all DPS. i know i will use the skill setup with symbol from time to time reguardless because i have an entire hotbar set to equiptment hotkeys, so i could easily swap to a symbol to range a mob before i move in for the kill, but when i get there i need to be able to maximise my DPS as such. also, i really like having points into heal crit, but if i were to remove several of them from heal, and maybe 1 or 2 from spell crit, to put i points so i could have melee crit, would my DPS ultimately go up or go down due to the huge loss in spell crit, which is where most of my DPS is based, espescially after the EoF paladin AP setup for AoES which im going all the way down.if this is anyway unclear just let me know and i will try to do so, but it will be a couple hours since i was going to let people sit on this while im out watching borat (WOOT!)

If your after dps max you spell crits 8pts will do you more good than melee crits ever will. But 8pts in 2nd spot of Int line will net you some big returns if you got over 700int in group should be around 1600dmg spell thats got 68% chance to crit almost like haveing second refusal of conviction.

The spell part has been answered but if you are comparing a 1h and symbol to a 2 hander...the answer is obvious, a 2 hander will do ALOT more DPS than a 1 hander. Also, the additional spell DPS from the INT will still be there even if you don't have a symbol equipped.

do what i do link the symbol and the two hander to a hot bar then switch in and out go to symbol for the spell very fast and then switch back. you sepnd all of 3 seconds with the symbol then redo it when the spell has refreshed

hehe when im not being lazy and i actually have a 2h that is comparable enough to my 1h to be worth the swap i will consider doing this. for now though i will just leave the symbol in as the one im using adds to my int greatly hehe

There was a time where I had the symbol aa max just for the spell crit... I've abandoned this atm because I'm now carrying around a quiver full of arrows. This may change for me as I rarely use the bow (I'll use decree or refusal first... but the bow does give 5 meters more).

The fun thing that I have discovered the past few weeks is changing multiple weapons throughout a fight (in raid mostly) just to take advantage of all the aa opportunities (this is because I got a sweet 2 handed fabled sword that procs 500+, with haste I swing it like a lawn mower)

In a fight I start with:

1. Axe - hit the aa that gives me haste.

2. Switch to my axe that allows me to swing it 60% + faster.

3. Depending on the battle, I'll toss in the symbol to use the aa ability, throw on a hammer/mace so I can do hammer ground knockback and/or my shield to do bash and stun the mob.

I've set up a small hotbar just above my spells that allows me to switch weapons with a click of one button... I have no clue what it does for my dps... but it's a blast mashing weapon and spell buttons through-out the fight.
