Zone in, hop down, go through those doors....straight ahead is a staircase down. You need to get down there. Once down there, go down stairs and you'll be in a "safe spot" the hidden door is to the left...there's a chest you have to turn to get the hidden door to slide away. Go down hidden passage....you'll come out to the zone of Inner Sanctum and the waterways. He spawns up top in the rafters above the water. Please, anyone with the trials, help us out.

tagged, we had a raid equipped group that wiped so fast we didn't know what hit us in there.

Went in with a decent geared group. We wiped once because of a respawn we didn't expect. After that, we were more careful and made it through fairly easy. I did have to blow off celestial touch a couple times though when I thought I was gonna bite it.

there were so many people in there we couldn't see who was engaging what, which mobs were encounter locked and which were aggro. Was ugly!

Yeah I finally got my cloak last night. It was a pain in the butt ot get through the castle. Everyone in the group couldn't believe how difficult this line was compared to any that they did. We had a full group of 70s, T7 raid equipped, and we ate a lot of dirt. One guy's armor fell off. Most of it was due to learning curve, since the group was made up of members of 4 different guilds that had never played together before.

After getting over the shock that we *could* take out all the encounters (we had no invis or 'chanter to offset fights), things started going a little more smoothly once everyone had a good feel for what the other memebrs were capable of. The named guy himself was a joke to kill after all the fights required just to get to him.

As for this...

kellan123 wrote:
Where are they, please? Go all the way to the back of that little area, and climb up a root to go up a level. Take a full group to Mistmoore Castle...... Once you clear a couple of trash mobs out of the way, you can invis down the stairs and then hang a left. There will be a clickable chest in the back corner oposite of some x2's............ The crawlspace opens right between the 2 epics and you go in. There will be some water ..get in and take a right. The named is up on a ledge above the water!!! Cake!!!!

Went down there tonight with 2 healers, Brig, Monk, Warlock and me Tanking. We're not all fully fabled but mostly fabled with every CA/Spell Adept III and above. We got served...I was being crit'd on a regular basis for 3k+, normal hits on the soft side were high 800s, max was a little under 2k.How is this a 70 Herioc quest when it involves a zone like this? Nobody with T7 legendary (meaning mostly the casual gamer) is going to be able to complete this questline.

Liluk, im just gonna throw my hypothesis out there. A group with 2 healers and decent dps in legendary gear can do this zone without all that much trouble... If a guardian tanks it... its that simple. SoE wants guardians to be the end all be all of tanking, like it was before LU13. Its really a simple matter of numbers.

Who has more defense when fully buffed? Guardians.

Who has more parry when fully buffed? Guardians.

Who has mroe mit when fully buffed? Guardians.

Who has more power when fully buffed? Guardians.

Who has more dps when fully buffed? Guardians, well moreso than we do.

Who has a more stable method of controlling aggro? Guardians.

Why does everything I type get double-spaced whenever I make a new line???... Im gonna blame the SKs for that.. they love messing with us. =)

So thats all it is. Take any decent guardian(Instanced/quested gear, tank build) and any good(bout half fabled half legenady gear, tank build) paladin, and the guardian is going to win in all the above catagories. So with that in mind, until you get 100 AAs, a really uber group, and probably full KoS fabled or EoF fabled, you will have far more difficulty than a guardian at tanking Mistmoore.

And for the record, I am not a pally hater, nor am I a guard hater. I hate how messed up the tanking system is, how skewed it is toward warriors, and how quite a few guardians have manipulated the populus towards that idea that a guardian is the only tank worth a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn], and that a paladin is utterly useless.

Well, this is definatly where all the easy scaping by on lowbie lv quests coems to an end for those who are on Mith Marr.

So you have you talk to Bayden for quest 4. He sends you off to Castle Mistmore to kill a knight of Cazic-Thule by the name of Slazz Dralax, located in sewers not the Catacombs.
Your gonna need a typical raid-tank group to get at him. I went in with myself, (Padadin) Jevena (Templar), Kauzmo (Defiler), Egin (Berzerker), Teraketsu (Chanter) and Taliesan (Wizard [DPS]). I don't believe anything short of having a this lineup (the Paladin slot can be filed as a extra class) will be sucessful.
Another hting, communication is key in that zone.
Anyway-to get to Slazz, you go trhough the entrance hall into the piano room (room after ent. hall). Hang a right in the piano room, and go along the right wall all the way up-NOT GOING DOWN THE STAIRS LEADING OFF TO THE RIGHT. You gotta keep moving after kills as to not get jumped by the repops. So, you get to the upper right hand corner of the room (the corner right before the stairs going up) and then hang a left. You will see a smaller staircase in the center between the left and right sides of the room. Go down them.
There are no mobs down the stairs, but hold short a landing before going to the basement. There are two roamers going between the hallway connecting where the stairs let out to anohter room. Let the tank go strait down the stairs, then proxy pull one of them (whichever you pull you will get another one-there are two mobs) and pull them back up to the landing where the group is. Kill the mobs. Then there should be mobs to the left and right of where the staircase lets out. Once again proxy-pull. If you get more than one group I suggest mezzing (lol). Once all the mobs in the immidate room are dead, the group goes down and to the left. At the end of the small hallway on the left there is a clicky box. Clicky hte box. It opens up a small hatch back near the stairs on the left wall where the box was. Go through the hole.
Eventually the hallway will come to an end (there are no mobs in this hallway). Have the tank go through the little opening andthere should be two mobs there. Kill them. Then there shoudl be no mobs in the room, or in hte water. Grats, your in the sewers!
Slazz is in the rafters to the right, (just go out into the water a bit and look right-should be easy enough to spot). Hes not aggro so you can get near him. I dont beleive hes hammer-pullable, but a spell does just fine. Hes probably the easiest mob you've faced in the entire treck through the castle. Once hes dead, you have your update, and you can evac/gate out-or have the wizzie teleport to Gfay to make the turn in easier.
Once you talk to Bayden, he sends you off to some trials. This is in the little area called Tunare's grove (or something like that) which is between the zone for loping planes and new tunaria. There is a small grove inbetween the different zone areas.
Once your in there, you need to find two roots that are going upwards. Menuver them up to where you will eventually see a little outjutting and a wooden door. Enter the door.
Trial of Courage:
Talk to ghost. I recommend you put the charm Bayden gave you onto your 1 in your primary hotbar (Just for the moment). Then find a spot where you can see relitavly all around you, and then specters with names will pop. Just use the charm over and over again on the specters. They die 1shotted with them. Once a few rounds are done you pass, and head down the corridor next to the ghost npc.
Trial of Honor:
There are no mobs in this fight. Just go down the corridor and talk to the frog. Go through the chat, but constantly say no, or you fail. (If you fail any of the trials you have to zone out, then start all over again) Once you get done with the chat of No's then you have passed. Go back to the chamber with the first trial.
Trial of Valor:
From the main room where you enter from the Trial of Honor, hang a right and follow the wall to where a new corridor begins. Eventually you will see some lights ahead, go to them and talk to the ghost NPC. He will tell you to never leave the circle blah blah. Once the trial initiates, dont leave the circle and start fighting the mobs that come at you. This trial is impossible to live through. Try to kill as many as you can, but if you die, dont worry about it.
When you die, you will pass, the trial and be revived instantly. Then Bayden comes from out of nowhere on top of the rock behind the NPC and talk to him. Grats, your done with Mith Marr

People are constantly saying that paladins tank just fine in heroic content, and I am constantly being forced to rebuke that argument by pointing out the fact that anyone will tank "just fine" in content that is not sufficiently challenging. Here we see where my campaign is proved. Very challenging conent, potentially too challenging overall and certainly unbalanced against the other diety quests, but that is beside the point. Challenging content that will require players to put in every last bit of effort to beat. And this is where paladins get shafted. Sure we can tank POA fine becauase it's easy, stuff in MM that will nearly drop a guard or zerker will drop a crusader without breaking a sweat. The crusader-warrior tanking gap is not restricted to epic content, it affects any content that provides significant challenge. And that is why the system is broken. Warriors have the tools to take their group deeper and faster, crusaders have tools that actually become exponentially less effective the more challenging the content is. That needs to be fixed. If they nerf this zone so anyone can tank it they don't fix the problem, they just hide it better.

So I need to be fully fabled before I have a shot at being able to tank this unless I get a warrior to come help?

There are alot of ways to skin a cat. Brute force is one. Or you can do what we did and have a bruiser FD us to the safe spot. The entire quest took about 10 minutes to do.

This zone is clearly set up for individuals that are nearing 50 EOF AA's, have adornments, and EOF drops.

I mean [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] I just added three EOF adornments, went down the hero line (Stamina buff) and my standing HP is 9200 right now. (With drink)

So don't be discouraged. You will need to build up your Pally a bit to handle this zone. It is the end all be all heroic zone in EOF. The other zones are fairly easy so there has to be one that is challenging.

Yeah, I'll try the FD thing and see how far we can train. If I knew the zone a bit better I'd feel more comfortable.

Bring a 'chanter. Makes things quite a bit easier. Think Nizara, and you'll be fine. Oh, and a tip to you crusaders. Kill the named Vanquisher that spawns behind the stairway down, and you might find a very nice shield. The zone was just what I was waiting for. Something Hard, Vamps should be hard, maybe there a bit tooo close together but /shrug what a blast, and a great looking zone.

Plus I just like Killing Vamps hehe, I spent a couple hours at the entrance soloing the 3/4 mobs I can take right there.

Message Edited by Majorminor on 11-20-2006 06:42 AM

Good god, a paladin can tank MM. And you no not need a mezzer lol. You do need 6 people who are [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] free. To get to the steps down to Inner Sanctum you only have to kill 4 or 5 heroic encounters. Smuggle/ invis down the rest of the way, you only have to kill stuff at the bottom if you happen to have see invis mobs roaming, which is almost never.

/agree Fidelus

A paladin can tank MM

Is it hard, yes, and it is hard for a guard too, yes

The problem is that they put this mob needed for the Marr quest in the Hardest group (heroic) zone in EoF. I have helped guildies and friends with other diety quest that weren't nearly as difficult as Marr's.

Anyway, got my update with a less than perfect group makeup, Pally (Me), Warden, Swashy, Monk, Zerker, Ranger, and yes I tanked it. We did have 2 others following us that needed the update, another swash being boxed by the Warden and a Guard.

Jedod

70th Paladin

The Tyrants - Permafrost

I tanked my way down as well for my group. It's hard regardless of gear quality. You need a group that pays attention and knows their class. If I can do it with a random pick-up group, then others that know each other well should have less trouble.

There are also workarounds like was mentioned above. FD, charming, pacifying and invis are a few. I did none of it, and straight tanked. Several members in the group said they had never made it that far into the zone before, even with guards tanking - so just go slow and steady and you should be fine.

~Sir Hawke Holyblayde, Hero of Maj'Dul

Slow and steady can be hard since it's an open PvP zone.
