<DIV>I was conversing with my guild leader, a mystic.  Being as that I am in a raid guild, he obviously chose his AAs solely for the purpose of healing  then buffs.  All his heals are at master 1, so are mine.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, I am not plannin on going down the healing line in our new AA set up.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I crunshed some numbers with him, as of right now, ALL of our heal/ward spells are more poewr efficient, problem for us atm is our power pool is less (he has double the power) and we have less heals.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now, suppose I went down the Heal and support lines in our new AAs, (giving me the 5 second cure I believe it is), and I dumped 8 points in STR and WIS, then went down the int line for the 8 points in Heal Crit chance.  It appears that with the ungodly Heal Crit chance, lowering the power cost and slightly lower casting times, on our single and group heal, plus the addition of a very large heal in the new AA line, the increased power pool from all that STR and WIS, and geared myself to have more power,  but also with the new T7 suits with an increase to our healing abilities, that I would be able to put him to shame in healing and warding either myself, or someone else as MT.  Preferably someone else, as then I could also hand them mitigation to be a better tank from the start.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The only problem is that with solo numbers, he would still outheal me as I would probably run out of power first, even though I would have healed more by that time, but he would catch up to me in heals and pass me before he runs out of power.  But in a gruop situation, with power pool buffs, and preferably a power regen class, this gap would close, and mostly go the other way.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, is this true?  Can a Pally truelly out heal a priest class with our new AAs if the correct setup where chosen, plus of course the cure we would get at the same time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now I am not advocating this, as healing is, imho our secondary role, first being able to tank, third being DPS.</DIV> <DIV>BTW,  dont let my raid leader see this, he may want me to respec for healing purposes to see if this is in fact true, and he can start bringing along a few pallies who can out heal priests, and still do some minor DPS at the same time..or major if chain healing is not needed.</DIV>

Answer: Very doubtful You only have 1 ward - a mystic has 2 (4 if you count emergancy heals) - those can be stacked and dstaggered so the tank/group is allways warded. A mystic however is not the 'biggest healer' of the priests.. the are the bigest warder - they play their game right and they never have to use a heal Now compare you heals to a Warden (VERY power effcient) or a Fury (spam healing, I personally have NINE different ways to heal a tank excluding heal on death and heal proc and emergancy death heal). You need to compare recast timers, casting times the whole works - a healer wll mostly have twice the powerpool of you and they can spen it quicker in healing - if you both spam healed you'll run out of power at the same time - just the healer woudl have healed/warded/reactived at least twice as much as you have. Now don't get me wrong Paladins can definatly push out some healing but you'll never repace what a healer can do in much the same way our tanking and survivibility is (however bank a pallys tanking is ) ALWAYS sub par to yours. A few comperable spells if you ONLY used them then, yes - maybe but the shear range of healing and protection spells any healer has at their disposal you don;t stand a chance. We did a healing parse for a raid a while back - a full spam healing Paladin did 25k and myself (fury) did in the same fight - 78k, both of us were in the same group (not MT) and my amount healed was more than double his. 25k on a healing parse though is good. <div></div>

I out heal non-MT group shamans and druids all the time, pre and post EoF and I only have 3 AAs atm (so I'm not that far in).<div></div>
