<DIV>Okay I have seen a lot of negative posted about EOF. I just logged into the BETA today and was surprised when rolling a Paladin that I start with a bow and some arrows and now have the ranged skill. Mostly I was surprised because the NDA has been lifted for a while and although I have seen threads talking about the new achievements I hadn't seen any mention of this. Therefore thought I would post this. I am also surprised because in a lot of ways it is a change that I thought would never happen.</DIV>

<P>It is true. It's a recent change. There already is a discussion in the SK forums. It's a nice change for the most part. Nothing game breaking as we stated before when we all cried for the change. It will help out with those fights where you joust, or maybe with pulling. While I'm glad to see this, I don't think it changes much.</P> <P>I just hope my ranged skill is maxed.</P>

I had heard about this, and promptly asked my beta guild to link me any bows that they had on them... Warriors, scouts and such all linked me a ton of them - but <i>not one</i> was able to be used by a paladin.I don't know if this is by design, where paladin usable bows will be very few and far between, or if it's a change that hasn't hit the existing bows yet.~Sir Hawke Holyblayde, Hero of Maj'Dul<div></div>

<DIV>If this bow change is staying in the game and I say if, because beta notes never indicated this change that I was aware of, then it's just an issue with them flagging the current bows, much like they had to do with secondary items when they allowed us to use them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Start a new paladin, and your given one</DIV>

<div></div>I don't think we will, I mean Guards and Zerkers just get auto attack right?Although, this may be a way to sneak in some more DPS (if they give us bow abilities) that wouldn't be too overpowering.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Kaleyen on <span class=date_text>11-12-2006</span> <span class=time_text>04:16 PM</span>

Is it that crusaders will not be able to use bows OR that exisiting bows were not coded for crusaders?</div>

That said I have seen three bows one is totally new since it was a quest reward for the newbie quests in Kelethin but all three bows I saw listed that they were usable by Paladins. So I am hoping that what he meant was to check again to find out that most if not all bows are now usable by Paladins.

higher damage in ranged only/jousting fights will be the only thing why i would equip a bow. In my opinnion the stats on the symbols and other items for ranged slot are way better for us.<div></div>

Just hot bar your bow and symbol, pull with bow, hit the symbol button to equip it and hope you don't die and damage both... <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span><div></div>

We can do eh damage close in and our ranged damage...well sucks so add a bow and even ONE bow ability (Divine Shot sounds like a good ranged attack!) and we're getting there. I think the Devs are making a good shot at putting us up to where we should be. Just a little more and I think we're golden.<div></div>
<P>Paladins with bows... *shakes head in disgust*</P> <P>What happened to the noble warrior of faith? The paladin should be a tank, not taking pot shots with a bow.</P>

Bows are good, but nbd truth be told. Any old paladins left from EQlive will remember we had them there as well, only the skill was capped at like 75. Truth be told, it will most likely be used for pulling only (although I do have ranged spells for that...) or maybe a nice stat item if, by some miracle, they up the drop rate of nice bows and the scout classes that need em actually get em.

Bows may not be what we asked for or think we should get but it's a step, specially for raiding Paladins. In raid situation where a mob needs to be ranged or jousted we'll see a signifcant improvement to our DPS because of a bow. I'm looking at the bright side of things here, we got a change that's in the positive category. Which means the devs have actually been looking at our class. <div></div>
