<DIV>Heyho again,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Finding my feet with the loladin again, and finding it good fun but being a returning player im confused on what my limitations are.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If someone could take pity of this newbish coporeal shell and throw me a few pointers it would be great.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Question 1.</DIV> <DIV>==========<BR>As a level 51 I can *just* kill a level 44 ^^^ using cooldowns (most of my spells are adept 1), (gear is rubicite, totemic kite, scaled scimitar) which con's green, takes forever and I get around 0.5% xp with Rest bonus.</DIV> <DIV>Is that about right? </DIV> <DIV>Im from the time before when i could solo heroic's pretty easily, but its all change now and I want to know what i should be aiming for.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Question 2.</DIV> <DIV>==========</DIV> <DIV>When performing HO's, are you still able to use a low level taunt to conserve mana but still do the same damage? I tried this a few times and wasnt getting decent results, i.e resists </DIV> <DIV>Im going to play around with it more tonight but I was hoping someone might have a definitive answer.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Question 3.</DIV> <DIV>==========</DIV> <DIV>Stats time. I've read conflicting views on this board, that i should be going for STR/WIS and some say STR/INT. I assume it's INT for damage from spells? Can anyone clarify?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Question 4.</DIV> <DIV>==========</DIV> <DIV>I used to be able to view creatures in the gameworld as ^^ (so i could easily distinguish solo and heroic), Is there a setting within options I can do this? Ive looked a couple of times but didnt want to mess around with the settings to much in case i caused a UI screw up.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Question 5.</DIV> <DIV>==========</DIV> <DIV>Spells from level 50. Do you use many of them at 70? Is it worth getting adept 3/ masters of level 45-50 spells, or am I best just coasting on adepts 1's until 70 and then upgrading at that point?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Question 6.</DIV> <DIV>==========</DIV> <DIV>Is there anything we can put in the ranged slot yet?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sorry for the barrage, but they are just niggling me - and after getting a few blank looks and 'i dunno' answers in game, I thought id try and get it straight from the horses (though mines now 110% doh) mouth.</DIV>

1 Yep, its normal. Paladin is mediocre at soloing (the worst is not our [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ty DPS but our spell consume too much power) and all tanks solo better than us because they have better DPS anyway. Use better gear and better spell to limit the natural weakness of our class. Fight skeletons to have a slight advantage. You shouldn't fight heroics for soloing, the time is take to kill them is too long for our class. Its better to fight solo mobs ur level or slightly higher and in offensive mode to kill them quite fast with a 2 hand weapon. Final note: if u wanna fight heroics, fight some who are weak (mobs encounter are quite different and their level is not everything: some are much stronger and some are much weaker). For example I can solo the blue heroics in the POA but I have to run away for the green of AOA. 2 Our solo HO are bad anyway. And like u said they are resisted if u try lower taunt to conserve power (wich is normal). And I read that the result of the HO is also lower if u you use a lower level in the chain.3 Str/int is better for soloing. 10 points of intelligence is 1% of damage. So try to get more int/strength gear for that (not easy). Use also AA (crit heal, crit dam) in the Int line and Sta line (crit melee). Compensante power with FT items to regenerate power (respec also ur character for regenerate power, its much better for soloing).4 there is an option. Don't know where exaclty. I think its in "target" in the "interface". Complex or simplified targeting. Something like that.5 Its always better to have adept III of ur level at least. Even more when soloing because we are weak at soloing and u don't want to be weaker. If u can't afford all of them, try those u use the most for soloing.6 We can put some items there. One from a quest in SOS for example.<div></div>

<P>Ah great that helped a lot <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>I'll do a bit more testing with my taunts for HO's, but at least im not miles away from what i can / should be soloing. I'll stick to the white/yellow solo con's then and see what I can do.</P> <P>Cheers!</P>

<div></div><div></div><div></div>TBH the best way to level up is to group regually, Sta/Mitigation/Health/taunts if you wish to MT, Int/wis/power/damage spells/arts if you want to offtank.<p>EDIT: ugh that sounded a bit of a standard retort... what I mean to say is while the boards can halp with any nuimber of things nothing can replace grouping with a bunch of peeps and simply trying a few things out... hopefully with their support/permission <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. That's what I meant to say.<span class="time_text"></span></p><p>Message Edited by boli on <span class=date_text>11-10-2006</span> <span class=time_text>07:03 PM</span>
