Sadly folks I have been playing my paladin since LU3 on my server as my main the entire time. I think like other previous paladins before me I will probably be retiring my paladin come the EoF expansion. I hope I will enjoy another class as much as the paladin...but it will probably spell the end of the game for me shortly thereafter. I don't understand how they could destroy a perfectly good class with the improvements they made in EoF...the changes are mind boggling. I just don't understand it. I play this game because I enjoy raiding. Before this change, you could argu the need for MAYBE 1 paladin on raids...but now they are truly a totally worthless class on raids....and honestly even when grouping now. I would take any fighter class over a paladin with the EoF changes coming down the pike even when grouping.

Its kinda sad really, I have raided every zone in the game save for two when they were hard...I wonder what I will do with all of my freed up time now.

I am not trying to say I want to tank as well as a guardian, zerker, sk, or other fighter class. I am simply asking for a real reason to play my character. Something that sets this class aside other then healing...because healing wise we simply suck.

Message Edited by Fatuus on 11-07-2006 06:43 AM

I haven't been playing quite that long, but I do love the raid. Its frustating to only see us pushed out of the light and into the back ground and finally out of the picture.I have been working my alts just so I can continue to have a good time. Although, I always seem to come back to my Paladin. But I know when EoF comes I will no longer do this, I will work my Alts and one will be come the main.Tis sad to know that the mighty duty bound Paladin is, alas being retired.

Ok, so the Devs obviously don't care....there must be someone that we can make our plea to...

Surely you could find a guild that will allow you to raid with them out of pity...don't give up!

I've had my Paladin since about 1-2 weeks from launch. Although I feel like this class lacks some solid direction and a few of our AAs are comical, there is one thing I'm fairly certain of...At least we can't get nerfed for a while! I still have faith (Must be the Paladin in me) that as the dust settles from the rollout of EoF that we'll see some adjustments come our way.

Well,It's pretty obvious that Dev's read our posts if certain members are having action taken against them for their posts. But it seems pretty clear the one thing that we all want is direction. Something to bring to a raid that another class doesn't (or can't do quite as well) would be grand. What could that function possibly be? There are some ideas on various threads. One thing that I would like to see is if we're going to more of a support role, how's about an AA (or skill) that allows us a full group rez (if that's too overpowered, maybe a group rez that only functions for our current group). So while it could be argued that one of us might want to be able to tank as well as a Warrior while another wants us to DPS like a.. Warrior (sorry, it just looks funny that they tank and DPS a ton better), we all have the same cry that we'd like to know our direction. Honestly, even if I hear: "Look you whiny little Pally, you're a Hybrid; you were never meant to do anything 'WELL', you just do a lot more than the others", I'd be happy. Lastly, there was a time that we were under the impression that all tank classes were going to be viable tanks that just operated differently. (You've done a fantastic job with balancing healers btw...) Some of us are still thinking that is the direction that SoE wants to go, is that true; or are we branching out to the more traditional way of RPGs? I'm honestly cool either way, I've gone through a lot and had a blast, just want to know the vision for the future.Sure, I may never see a response in this thread, but that's not what I'm looking for really. I'm just speaking what I feel to help myself feel a little better...

To point something out in your second paragraph. If dirges get a group rez why don't we? That doesn't make ANY sense to me.

Honestly,That's exactly what came to my mind. I find myself often on Rez duty. But after a dirge is in, I'm on "Rez duty if the Dirge can't". Personally, a full health rez for a group would give us something distinct...I will say that I received a Beta invite and after checking a few things out I wasn't too heart broken.

AAs need some work, but I'm sure they'll surprise us with something cool

Nerf to armor wasn't as bad as I was expecting

My Fitzpizles Misty Protector's proc was cut in 1/2... This made me cry.

I don't fully understand this new avoidance system or how we comapre to Warriros on that...

Allow me to say one thing about EoF as a side note: Whoever is in your art department should be given a raise. The Art and Sound (Sound being the Music) was the most amazing thing I've ever seen/heard from this game. The overall expansion is breathtaking! And let me also state that while I did notice a difference is how/what I could fight, it wasn't a huge difference.

Yeah dirge rez's are [Removed for Content]...they can rez at least twice as many people with their single target rez then I can simply because they don't have to find the corpse then be on top of it to rez.

I ran through the first 6 pages and only saw 2 votes for paladin - one of which was from a retired paladin that is just simply done with the class. The consensus was Sk at the point I got tired of reading it. Maybe later posts change that?

~Sir Hawke Holyblayde, Hero of Maj'Dul
