A paladin give any class a good fight except for healer type or a wizard with manaburn. Manaburn can 1 shot any class with damage ranging from 13k up to 15k damage is the highest I've taken from manaburn. Fighting a healer will all depend on if you run out of power first or the healer.

Don't forget brigs and swashy's...I'm stunned for 99% of the fight and when I do finally get unstunned I can't get off a lay hands to save my life.

at 38 I got my [Removed for Content] kicked by a 34 bruiser which I have no idea how that happened other than being in offensive stance.Being kicked around and hit for 500 didn't help either.Usually 1vs1 on melee like that is not a challenge. I'm stumped.

Brigands owns any class in PVP with their stun lock and the crazy mit debuff they have that turns a plate tank into a cloth class. Brigands mit debuff still hasn't been scaled down in PVP and it doesn't look like it will.

Getting those masters or at least adept3 can make the differnce. As a pali it took me a long time to figure out as well that we are not going to win most fights by attacking, but rather warding and healing.

I can count the number of times on one hand that I have been in offensive stance in the last 50 lvl's. Dont use it, wont use it, no need to use it. We have to many benifits from defensive.

One last tip, spark potions. We are fantastic at takeing a beating, make that melee class that thought you were an easy mark pay for every hit. Assassins brusiers and brigands hit fast, I think spark potion is 40 points of damage for every hit on you, that adds up fast.

I fought many brigs 1v1 and I can't say I beat them all. Check the PVP leader boards and on the top 100 across all the PVP server there is only one paladin that made it up there. Whether if we can beat them will depend mostly on castigate andFreedom of the Mind which is on a long recast timer. Also want to add that castigate damage isn't the same as before. Before EOF beta castigate can do good damage but now the damage isn't that great anymore but curing the mit debuff is good until u get stun lock.

I've been testing in beta and I use freedom of the mind and have that open window to take down a brig and once that runs out you will die, stun lock FTW. From my exp in beta brigs are a beast well they are 1 step below a wizard with manaburn.

Also PVP server goes by a different set of rule from PVE server.

Message Edited by lavasoul on 11-07-2006 11:08 PM

Greeeat, now castigate damage is gonna get knocked back. I can beat scouts if I'm not perma stunned the entire fight. Oh and Abel, nice meetin ya on beta, had a fun time in MM even if it was short (sorry mate it was like 3am for most of us).

There has been some changes to some of the scouts so PVP is still fun. Evac change is koo and also the mit debuff for brig got scaled down so its all good now.

Was nice meeting you in beta also Liluk. Man its always good to see another paladin running around thats just how much I love the class. We all have a different vision of a paladin and I'm glad to see some of us are still fighting for changes in the new EOF AA. I'm happy to see SOE making some minor changes to the AA and whether I'm happy with those changes doesn't matter at this point. All I'm doing now is doing diety quest for Mith Marr so when this all goes live I can walk our Berserker thru the quest so he can get the last line miracle to help with the tanking in the guild.

In my guild there is only 2 plate tanks which is a berserker and me a paladin. If the berserker is on I go into support which I have no problem. In the case where he is not on I'm the only plate tank around for raid and due to Qeynos population on my server each guild has a certain number of plate tanks so getting more plate tank isn't an option. Well you see where I'm going with the new EOF AA line for my scenario where I become the hope of a guild that wants to pull thru a Tier 7 raid when the real tank isn't on.

Those still fighitng for the AA change fight strong guys and to SOE keep up the good work.

Message Edited by lavasoul on 11-10-2006 04:15 PM

I am not seeming to have the same difficulties with scouts....I have been absolutely owning them for the most part. I have been using the defensive stance until recently but now i have been offensive and two handing. I am not sure if its my level (49) but who knows? This is soloing. (Not sure about bruisers.....killed one twice last night easily but he was level 44)

Now for grouping....I group with Whiskyjack a 49 Ranger and we have been owning lately (VS toons around our level)....we took out a 58 fury a couple days ago and we were both 48 at the time. Everyone goes for him off the bat so I stun the attacker lots and ward/heal the ranger while he piles on the damage. I can keep the ranger alive fairly easily and he can burn through our opponents very fast. If they switch to me he opens up with all his arrow attacks and they drop. We burn the Healer or tank class first then mow through the scouts. We don't always win but its more in our favor lately.

I wouldn't change my class at this point for any other. Pally's are really fun to play and a blast to fight with. I mean think about it......no invis, no run speed, no stealth, no evac, no ranged.......you are an absolute target most of the time and its awesome!

Wanderingwilly - Loves his Pally

i can solo most fighter classes just have to play smart

casters DEAD

scouts brigs are a 50-50 chance really

driges and troubs good chance of beating just need to play smart

pallys are a great pvp toon IF you play smart its going to be harder and longer but it can be done

my 2c.

I havent met a class out there that makes my life more miserable than a brigand. If its a brig and it cons blue or white im dead, I don't even have time to ward myself before im stun locked and beaten to a bloody pulp. I eat casters and dirges/troubs for lunch (if I can catch them that is, if they decide to run I have nothing to prevent it). Healers its all about who attacks first. If we both ooc heal then its a standoff if they attack I just stand and ward and heal until they get oop and its over. Gaurds just cant do enough dammage to kill us and I havent fought many zerkers. The one other class that I find very tough but beatable is bruisers all those interupts really play havoc against our casting. Of course this is pretty much a break down of my 1 on 1 pvp experience and I very seldom am out alone. Give me a Warden, Swashy and a couple Rangers, throw in a Templar or Fury and we can't be beat.

Banthor Giantmeat

70 Paladin Venekor

<Sanctuary>
