I have recently started being mt for groups in KoS have not had problems in Den Nest or Blackscale Sulf but recently walked into HoF and got my butt handed to me by the named at the bottem of stairs that need to be clicked to be activated 7 consecutive times. Self buffed I am at 4205 Mit and in this group I was capping out at 64% mit but was still getting hit for 6k smacks. Had Temp and Fury as healer and never died till this guy. Was only 3rd run thru and first as MT so can anyone give me any pointers or is it I just need more Mit?

Well basicly Ishtara (the dude on the table) is the hardest mofo in that zone IMO, basicly he does hammerfist that normaly it does around 4-5k, but he also does a debilitate type of spell, that lowers your mit for around 3k, so basicly you need 3 things, first and most important, you need to increase your mit, since the mobs in there do debilitate and will drop your mit to almost 0, the other 2 stuff is up to your healer, first they need to cure trauma ASAP!! since if you have that debilitate, the next hit will be around 10k, and the second thing that I noticed it works a lot, it's spam wards, it helps to cut that big hit for 1k or so.

You need to find healers that actually cure!!!!!!!! The mobs in HoF use Brigand abilities, namely Debilitate which removes pretty much all your mitigation (it's a static number, think it's like 4500 but can't remember) and if it's not cured you're going to get your rear handed to you every time. KoS is more intensive on cures than any other expansion / teir before.

And if your healer doesn't seem to want to cure you, there is castigate and cure pots.

Until I had a little raid gear, I was happy to skip that guy. Now, he's easy enough if the priest does nothing but spam cure trauma, and I can tank and heal his regular hits, and counter stone fist with lay hands. Regardless, I have had the most success when somebody is doing nothing but cast cure trauma as fast as they can. Curing the debuff works on other mobs in HoF, but human reaction times will not work on this guy. Spam cure trauma.

Defiler/templar would probably be the best healer combo you could get there (max HP) for yourself.

There's also a much easier technic for killing this guy. When I was at your level I never wanted to tank him...I just let the casters "Root nuke" him to death. The mob has only melee damage...so its easy to root nuke it to death. Another easy technique is to have a ranger Kite kill him to death.

Message Edited by Fatuus on 10-27-2006 09:03 AM

Message Edited by Fatuus on 10-27-2006 09:06 AM

Well im a monk and can do this mob pretty easily with a single cleric healer (my wosrt type of healer). And if i can do with my pyjama armour then im sure any plater can. Basically all u need is healers that cure and dps that kicks [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn], nothing much u should need to do apart from keep aggro.

If you want to save yourself from having a headache, and lots of repair bills, the dont tank him.

What? you ask.

Simple. Root and nuke him. Have your fighters step back and let the mages, healers get a chance. He goes down like cake and not even laying a hand on anyone.

Just have them alternate rooting and nuking, and it is easy. I have done this the last 5 times I been in there. Just stand to the side and use your long range nukes. Through out the fight you will see a couple of roots on him, so he will barely move an inch before we are opening the dropped chest. Which sux btw. If he happens to break all the roots, then just step up and take the hits, hopefully a root will take place before you fall. Just DON'T use any DOTs.

The sleeper is a pain to tank, and unless you have someone chain curing you, your dead. Love getting hit for 9k damage in one hit, because of his attack and being debuffed. Your not going to live through that.

Grats on getting the guy, even with 6k mit he can be a pita.

If I have a wizzy and warlock, then I dont bother tanking him, we just double root and the casters and me sit tehr eand nuke him.

Otherwise, I tank him with only one healer. I only bring one healer in HoF, save the second spot for more DPS. Cures are key to every fight in there.

For more success though, try and get your mit closer to the 5500 range in a group, do this using a healer with their mit buff at master, and if needed, a conjuror and maybe an SK.
