<DIV>Hi all</DIV> <DIV>Until recently, I have levelled very slowly, enjoying spending time really getting to know the zones and my character. My main, a Pally, was my first char and stillis my favourite.</DIV> <DIV>I hit tier7 recently, and am enjoying it greatly, but have one problem, finding decent gear.</DIV> <DIV>I don't raid very much at the moment (although hoping to start raiding a little with my guild soon), most of my time is spent duoing with my wife's Warden, or grouping with my guildmates.</DIV> <DIV>I have had trouble equipping my Pally with decent tier7 gear.</DIV> <DIV>I  currently have </DIV> <DIV>a full set of Xego Vanguard, with Barbute of the flapping wing</DIV> <DIV>Xego tower shield</DIV> <DIV>Xego battle axe</DIV> <DIV>Amulet of the swords of Ro</DIV> <DIV>Acrylia rings/earring/bracelets</DIV> <DIV>Dragonhide belt</DIV> <DIV>Dragonhide Tome</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Link to my EqIIplayers bio here - <A href="http://http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=163994303" target=_blank>http://http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=163994303</A></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have a Cuirass of Protection ready for a couple of levels time</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The broker seems full of nice legendary items for cloth/leather/chain classes, but nothing special for plate wearers.</DIV> <DIV>Anyone have any ideas of items I should look out for or mobs/quests I should go for to get something better?</DIV> <DIV>I can't stand the light-blue look of the Xego (it seems the Village people have a new member .... Indian, Cowboy, Policeman, Builder, Paladin)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any advice given would be greatly appreciated</DIV>

<DIV>There is a boatload of good plate tank gear out there.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Couple of suggestions:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Do Claymore quest line.  Very good rewards for plate tanks.</DIV> <DIV>Do instances, I know Den has the light and dark chiten rings which have plus to mitigation.</DIV> <DIV>You can also do the Fitzpizzle quest at crash site, which brings you into Den and get a very good shield for reward.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>That should get you started and keep you busy to lvl 70 as well.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>Best non-raid paladin gear bar none is Scalelord from Palace of Awakening dragons (Purple and Green) and the Palace of Awakening claymore updates, belt, wrist, earring, shoulders. But otherwise Scalelord will be the best gear non-raid level. For a Shield the Grizz quest shield is the best. Also the Halls of Fate Sothis boots</P> <P>Weapons:</P> <P>1h) Scmitar of the Slashing Claw</P> <P>2h) Forget its name Something Katana from HOF and the Katana from the ring event in SOS is also awesome.</P> <P>Neck piece:</P> <P>MoA - Even though its a raid at the end lets face it at least on my server there are more pickup MoA raids than there are people that need the updates so I dont really see this as terrribly hard to get otherwise go with the neck piece dropped from Overseer in SOS pretty decent for a paladin.</P> <P>Other wrist item that feather from one of the collection quests is pretty nice</P> <P>Rings:</P> <P>Farm Den for Dark Rings or Light Chitin rings.</P> <P>With that stuff you would be a rocking upper end tank and would be T7 early raiding if you ever decide to start raiding. All that gear is not insanely hard to get and you would be nicely equipped.</P>

- Shoulders from HoF- Boots from HoF- CoP from Blackscale Sepulcher- Grizzlefazzle Shield from quest in Bonemire- Prayerbeads from Nizara (will be hard to get, but great item)- Vitae Imortalis (or somehing like that, legendary necklace) from SoS- Kill the dragons in PoA for good armor drops- I've seen some nice bracelets drop in HoFAnd as others stated : Do the claymore quest line, many good items can be gotten trough that quest and only the last steps require a raid.<p>Message Edited by Dwergux on <span class=date_text>10-13-2006</span> <span class=time_text>01:32 PM</span>

For legs, the Empowered? greaves are good, even for L60-ish item. The mit isn't big, but they have a bonus +120 or so to mit (slashing/crushing/piercing). For the same reason CoP for chest is awesome. All the advice above is good. Calymore line is great for mit boots - for ears, belt and shoulders in particular, and of course a shield/sword at the end (which being a Deathtoll raid I'm still way off!).The Hooluk hat is great - 500 mit. See Hooluk at the drop from the end of the chain from Isle of Desolation I recall. Better than the class hat that can drop in Vaults (Helm of Valor).Your next step is then Labs pickup raids to get some relic drops (off non-nameds or 'trash' as people call it).For weapon, I have Ancient Velium 1h hammer, for my STA AA line. I paid 3pp for it but think it's a Labs drop too.

Decent non legendary legs are Judgement Greaves... for treasured they are pretty decent and are better than mastercrafted until you can get scalelord or the claymore legs.<div></div>

Dont forget the plate bracers from Nek3.They drop off the part of adventurers you fight  not once, but twice (They evac the first time).<div></div>

Most of the suggestions are for a 70ish group.  In the short term, you are pretty well set with xegonite, and you can find most of the good (but lesser) alternatives on the bazaar fairly cheap.  Focus on spell upgrades until you can handle the grizzfangle and Hoo'loh quests, and start on the claymore quest line now.  You can do a lot in sanctum, and get good xp.<div></div>
