Paladin Power where does it come from

The effect of this secondary stat however has been limited up until now because of having to keep two stats as high as possible and you will notice that (gear aside) Paladins (and SK's) seem to have less power than the other fighter classes. We also have some very power hungry abilities (esp. heals and wards) which makes power management a key part of being a Paladin and has made soloing a real challenge on the tougher mobs (i.e. oop = death). I can't believe any paladin would solo to 70 and not know what got him there.
