<DIV>I'm just curious how well pallys can solo in their 50s-60s.</DIV> <DIV>With their heals and stuns, etc, do they stand up to heroics very well?<BR><BR>Haven't had much experience with the class but like the idea of being able to self heal.</DIV>

We can solo,It just takes a LONG time sometimes... (depending on what you're soloing).<div></div>

<P>If there is anything at all that we are good at, it's taking damage! :smileyhappy:</P> <P>I soloed from 1 - 70 and I can tell you that I had little trouble. The best advice that I can give you is to focus on improving your DPS as much as possible through gear, AA's and Masters.</P>

Yep, solo DPS is usually the only thing you'll find to make it a challenge, but you can tweak it through AA's and good master abilities. I'll say this though... I don't think there's ever been a time when soloing when I ran out of health before I ran out of power. Paladins can definately stand their ground soloing, it just takes a tad longer than some other classes.

The Intelligence line gives you more spell crits improving your DPS, the heal crits are nice too if you go that far. The Stamina line gives you more melee crits but the hammer ground ability shines in those situations when you try to take on a group and need a moment to heal.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The agility line is too hard to place, IMO, with the reliance on piercing weapons and staying on horseback. The Strength line is based on holding aggro and not so much on soloing. The Wisdom line abilities seem to be group-based.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The Paladin is a strong soloer. One of the better ones in the game, I think. </DIV>

<div></div><div></div>Buy a second set of gear for soloing concentrating on INT and STR... for most mobs you cna saunter through on offensive stance but the difficulty increases as you rise to T6-7 just keep swaping equipment around untill you find a happy medium between survivibility and boredom.<div></div><p>Message Edited by boli on <span class=date_text>10-03-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:21 PM</span>

The agility line is real nice, and as long as you cast your joust spell while on horseback, it will stay on even in zones with no horses. what it does, is cast the spell 2 times, when you get off the horse, they are still there. shrugs.however, tier 6 peircing is a problem because SOE in thier infinite ability to bugger something up, made most of the player crafted peircing weapons unusable to pallys...ugh but you still can use the normal spear. I wanted a voulge SOOOO bad...and a trident, *whimper*<div></div>

Yes pallys solo well. In some zones that means a blue solo mob is a tough fight and in other zones it means you can kill a solo mob 2 or 3 levels above you. When I was 64 I was killing level 67 mobs in Barren Sky. Was a blast!DPS is slower but not aweful, and I gotta say, from a pally that used to play EQ1, I absolutely love my pally in EQ2. Grouping, soloing, crafting, every part of the game works better for me and I love it.

Those AAs will definetly increase your DPS. I have seen pallys with these AA parse 700-900 on a consistant basis on raids and soloing probably around 400-600, ofcourse adept3+ spells will help as well. That will give you the most haste you can get with the most melee crit chance and the most spell crit chance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Those AAs will definetly help in soloing.</DIV>

I have found that for soloing heroics, the wisdom regen line combined with defense and shield lets me outlast enemies that I can't outdamage with offense and two-hander. My offensive setup is not very good, but for me, I can do much, much better taking it slow.<div></div>

For that last bird in the nest I know that you need maxed out divine resists, having soloed him with a conjuror before. He also has a nasty disease dot if I remember right, can can case those netherlord things.
