Non hypothetical case:Paladin (MT)FuryConjurorGuardianTemplarCoercerWhich char should amends be on (and why) ? for an AoE fight, and a single target one. Note the lack of a shaman (other priests in the raid were an Inquisitor and 3 additional Furies)Hypothetically (assuming a slightly better class mix - casual raid guild/limited choices) who would you put here, and once again, who is best for amends?Paladin (MT)TemplarCoercerxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxWhere xxxxxxx is NOT Dirge/Shaman/Warlock (don't have any who raid frequently), but pretty much any other class is available

Yeah, yeah crusaders shouldn't be allowed to tank when a warrior is around, take those kind of comments as read. The paladin has good fabled gear and is competent. (I'm personally doubtful of the amends target is my main concern). Thanks for comments.

Use the guardian for amends and have him/her taunt. If you should die or be teleported away some reason the guardian will be next in line. Tanks are designed to generate hate. With the extra hate from another fighter taunting you'll hold aggro off the rest of the raid better, allowing the DPS to burn down the mob faster. As far as "crusaders shouldn't raid tank" HA. That's a load of crap. We consistently use a paladin as our raid main tanks. It's not about what class the tank is, it's about who has the best gear, best abilities for the situation, and most skill. If given the choice between a paladin with better gear than a guardian of the same level, I'll take the paladin every time.

Message Edited by Quijonsith on 09-24-2006 11:08 PM

Swap the fury for a shaman and put amends on the shaman.

I'm a bit doubtful of using the guardian for amends. A dps tank works well, but my understanding is a large part of guardian's aggro is from being hit, so not so good in a supporting role.Shaman? What shaman? I said TWICE we don't always have one.Was a catch 22. Amends was on the Conjuror for some unknown to me reason. As the templar, when I didn't have short cast emergency heals or deaggro up I either pre-cast and died, or didn't pre-cast and the tank died. c'est la vie, social aggro on raid mobs is a lovely thing.NVM, So whats an IDEAL setup for a Paladin MT then?PaladinCoercerDirgeTemplarDefiler (amends?, so Guardian buffing?)Sorcerer/Predator/Rogue? (amends?) or Warden?

Depending on the player, Conjs should be one of the best amends target as a good one should be at the top of parses if not leading. Maybe he was not pulling his weight.I amends our Conj or Monk when I'm MT. Healers should only get aggro on a resisted taunt on a body pull. Only reason to ever amends a Shaman is for a tricky pull or mem wipes.Everyday MT groupPallyShamanWardenTemplarDirgeMonk/ConjHighest DPS raidsPallyShamanTemplarCoercerDirgeMonk/Conj

I've used amends on a Guard before and it works very well. Having them taunt away and you will hold like a rock. Not a traditional situation but every once and a while if I'm in the MT group and the Guard dies, I can quickly amends him on rez and get aggro back and tank the remainder of the fight.

I usually amend a Brigand or Warlock if I'm MTing though.

<sarcastic answer> Don't put amends on anyone because it's too damned buggy.</>But seriously, I like to choose my amends target based on AE or single target named. If its single target, assassin or brawler. If its group, warlock, zerker, or a wizard that doesn't suck. I guess a conj would be ok too, but split dps kind of makes it less interesting.

I've always found Conjurors to be the worst because their DPS is split. Brigands on single targets and warlocks on groups work well.
