<DIV>Just a thought</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Think about what a Paladin is. We are the people who charge into a battle despite overwhelming odd, confident in our skills and our beliefs that we can, and will overpower the enemy. If that means charging into hordes of undead with noone behind us so be it. We are Zealots, Martyrs, We are the fantasy equivalent of the Templars of old. (If you dont know who the Templars where, look up some history on the crusades, the guys with white robes over their chain, their helms had the large cross on the font, they wehre Holy warriors of the Roman Catholic Church)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now think on the other side. Here you are, with your undead buddies, and you see this guy in shining armor come charging down the slope at you, alone or maybe with a few others of the same. They are outnumbered, but seem to be undaunted. These men are obviously nuts...But the way they carry themselves, their amazing ability on horseback, the rumors of this group are horrifying. You are not going to leave this field alive.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It just seems to me that the basis of what we are, would induce fear in our enemies, sometimes causing them to flee the field of battle, or at the least, knock them onto their heels and throwing them off balance.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I feel that part of our class, should include a battle cry, or prayer of sorts, that casts fear and def and divine debuffs on the enemies we are facing.</DIV>

Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and the Temple of Solomon or just Knights Templar. Order was founded in 1096 after the 1st Crusade by Hughes de Payens and 8 others and charged with the defense of pilgrims in the Holy Land. They allegedly found something in the ruins of the Temple of Solomon and suddenly became very rich. Modern banking practices have their roots in the Knights Templar. Lasted a couple hundred years, and due to rumored treasures they held and the fact that they were subject only to the Pope, were suppressed in the 1300s by Pope Clement the 4th (I think...can't recall with my cold-fogged head right now) and the French King Phillip the Fair on October 13, 1307. (A Friday, which is alleged to be the reason for Friday the 13th being a day of bad luck.) A few years after the arrest of Jacque De Molay and others, De Molay was burned at the stake, where he cursed Pope Clement and King Phillip by telling them to meet God's Justice within a year. Both Pope and Clement did indeed die before a year had passed. The reason that the Templars were so fearsome on the battlefield was that their Rule forbade them to retreat unless outnumbered 3-1, and then only at the order of their commander. However, most commanders would not give that order, which would give one a LOT of incentive to fight like hell.We already have something in the nature of the effect you mention. Can't recall if it is similar at lower levels, but Zealous Preaching (encounter AE taunt) applies a very healthy divine debuff. As for a fear effect, I think that's a little much...maybe a short duration stun (immobilized with fear, as it were.) Most of the time, when you mention a fear effect, some of us can remember back to EQ1 and just exactly how much trouble a fear spell could cause. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>
My defiler can fear mobs. You really don't want to do that. All it does is bring more mobs to you because the feared mob will 'social' any other mobs it runs past.So the defiler deaggro skill is pretty useless. Let's not have such a useless skill in the Pally line <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
